Description:
Now up for grabs at Gateway Classic Cars in our Houston location is this very rare 1972 Mercedes Benz 350sl. 1971 marked the beginning of the now famous and highly sought after R107 chassis 2-seat convertible roadster. This line of the model started as 350SL coupes in 1971 with a 3.5L V8, but in 1972 they upgraded to the much more powerful and reliable 4.5L V8 but this is where this cars rarity comes into play, only for 72’ was the car denoted as a 350SL but was outfitted with the larger 4.5L V8. In 1973 they shifted the name to 450SL to fall in line with the engine liter size, just as they do today in their new cars. Since it was a new model to the brand at the time the production numbers weren’t that high thus adding to these early models appreciation value. There are not many on the market for sale in this condition as many suffer from rust issues. The car is outfitted with a strong running 4.5L V8 that utilizes the reliable Bosch D Jetronic fuel injection electronic engine management system. With less than 115k actual miles on the car the power plant has plenty of life in her. The V8 is paired to a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission that provides enough acceleration power but also gives a nice driving experience that the SL line is so well known for. The drive train seems solid from front to back and the car is fun to drive. Looking at the car drive by you’ll be drawn in by the very recent & refreshed new paint job. It was repainted back to its original color and it came out very well. The body panels are appear to be original to the car. The doors open & close with ease and the body panel gaps align & are even. Of course, this is almost a 50-year-old car that is mostly original. It isn’t a concourse car, but still shows well. The light lenses & their houses are in a great shape with no cracks. The grill, bumpers, & emblems are in very nice condition. Stepping into the driver’s seat you will find a very nice saddle colored interior that looks great & has been partially refreshed with new seats. The door panels, carpet, rear deck area, headliner, & dash are in superb condition for 46 years old. The owner was going to update the center console vent controls with a later model, but wanted to keep the car original in case the new owner would prefer that. The seats are very comfortable and soft to the touch. The interior just allows you to slip in and enjoy your time cruising around town. While you are zooming around the city the owner installed an aftermarket radio & speakers. The convertible top is new and operates with ease. The top is in very nice condition with no tears or rips, the plastic in the back is clear and generally looks great against the black body & saddle colored interior. The car has been well maintained and garage kept for most of its life. There has been several updated and replaced items on the car. Looking at the engine bay you will see a very clean and tidy area that has many items in very new & nice condition. Coolant hoses, brake master cylinder, spark plug wires & ignition parts, fuel pump, exhaust, & many other noticeable items have been maintained/serviced. The car is rust free and will only go up in value as these classic Mercedes SL’s become rarer every day. Don’t miss your chance to get a piece of history and call us with an offer today! Description:
Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to welcome a very nice 1994 Chevrolet Corvette to the Philadelphia Showroom. This car is finished in white with a black interior. The owner has had the car for 17 years and driven it 40,000 miles over those years. Always garaged and serviced regularly it is in excellent condition. There were no exterior changes to the 94 Vette. Inside, a passenger-side airbag and knee bolster were made standard, complying with the second phase of the federal government’s “passive restraint†safety requirements. Leather seats were made standard, and were available in base and “sport†versions. Less-restrictive bolsters were now included to accommodate larger passengers and to facilitate entry and exit. Also new was a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel that, to most reviewers, was a functional step down from the one it. A one-touch “express down†driver’s side power window was likewise added for ‘94, and new dashboard instrumentation now changed colors from white to tangerine at night. Also, the car’s air-conditioning system now used an environmentally friendly refrigerant, R-134a, instead of the ozone-layer-unfriendly R-12 Freon. What’s more, rear windows on convertibles were now made of glass instead of plastic and came standard with a defogger. Surprisingly, 1994 Corvette sales rose to 23,330 despite few noteworthy changes and a modest price increase to $36,185. Nicely equipped with power windows, power locks, keyless entry, leather interior, stereo and cruise and tilt. This Corvette is one that you want to check out. To view this 1994 Chevrolet Corvette in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ. For sale in our Nashville showroom is a beautiful 1959 Ford Fairlane. A mid-year model crossover, the 59 Fords were quite the mixed bag of badging. At various shows youll often find patrons arguing whether its a Fairlane, Fairlane 500, Galaxie, or Galaxie 500. Truth be known, they were actually all one in the same. Taking on the bigger and boatier lines of the Thunderbird, the Galaxies truly took on big bodied form, superseding the Ford Fairlanes. Continuing the Fairlanes roll as Fords full-sized sedan, they had various options in various trims. This particular Fairlane being a two-door, still has a sporty feel, while maintaining the room needed for a family. This particular 59 Ford for sale left the factory with a 200 horsepower 292 Y-block engine. Its since been replaced with the more modern 5.0 liter (302 cubic inch) small block Ford V8. With performance goodies like headers and dual exhaust, this small block Ford rumbles and pushes this 1959 Ford Fairlane for sale along with ease. Backing the small block Ford is an automatic transmission. Built for easy cruising, this 1959 Ford for sale is eager to take a trip down to local show or drive in movie! The exterior is a mild custom, with a two-tone black and silver paint scheme. With fins and chrome like the epitome of any late 50s cruiser, this Fairlane for sale has looks for days! With black painted steelies adorned with baby moons and beauty rings, wrapped in Goodyear radial tires, this car has a real 50s hot rod look. The interior is no different, with silver and gray vinyl interior. With benches both front and back, this car has plenty of room for you and a group of your friends and family. Its a real drive-in special. A $237.37 document fee will be added to the sales price. All purchases may be subject to any applicable tax, title, & licensing fees. For sale in our Detroit showroom is this incredible 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. These Tri-Five Chevys are especially desirable, and this 55 is a perfect example of an already great car, taken to a whole new level. The first thing that grabs your attention are the smooth and iconic body lines, coated in custom-mixed Red Jewel, with Champagne on the bottom, which combined with extra pearl, makes this Chevy really shine! If you are looking for something that is sure to make you the center of attention at shows and cruise nights, then this is the car for you! Since no classic car is complete without a big V8 under the hood, this Bel Air doesnt disappoint, with a color-matched engine bay, a GM LS3 sits under the hood and has been fully built with speed in mind. Other custom additions include a smoothed firewall, painted inner-fenders, and a painted engine cover. All of the power goes through a modern 4L60e transmission and exits through Kooks headers and Kooks mufflers with polished 3 pipes, that produces a rumble that will surely turn some heads whenever you it the gas! Upon opening the door, youll be greeted with an incredible interior that rivals newer luxury cars! In addition to the great noises produced by the engine, the car also features a Pioneer head unit with 6 interior speakers and 2 woofers. The dash is painted the same shade of Jewel as the exterior and is loaded with aftermarket gauges to keep an eye on engine functions. With power windows and Vintage A/C system, this 55 will be comfortable to cruise in no matter how hot it gets. The rear end is a 12 Bolt GM with 3:73 gearing and posi-traction. The car sits on a Fatman 4-link suspension with a pan hard bar, giving it a very smooth and pleasant ride out on the road. Behind the Billet Specialty Dagger wheels are Wilwood brakes with 6 piston up front and 4 piston out back to being things to a swift halt. Other options on this car include: A/C, AM/FM radio w/ CD player, power brakes, power steering, power windows, tilt wheel, leather interior, keyless entry, and radial tires on aluminum/alloy wheels. Into the interior the color scheme mimics the exterior, two tone fog green and green distressed leather interior with front bucket seats and bench seat in the rear. You can keep watch of the operations of the car thanks to a set of Dakota Digital gauges and a tach mounted in the dash cluster. Tons of other custom tips in the interior including Billet steering wheel, custom door panels with carbon fiber and SS trim, custom arm rest, and digital clock. Into the trunk is similar material to the interior, green on green with a touch of carbon fiber and SS trim as well. The battery has also been relocated to the trunk to make for quick and easy charging. The heart of this Bel Air is the show piece of the car. The engine of this well-built Bel Air is a thumping LS3 376 cubic inch motor that originally came from a 2010 Camaro. Atop that motor sits a polished Whipple supercharger and makes some great horsepower. The power is transmitted through 4L60e automatic transmission that effortlessly shifts through the gears. The engine bay is dressed up and is as shiny as the rest of the car thanks to a carbon fiber engine covers, carbon fiber intake, chrome alternator, chrome A/C compressor, SS braided and polished lines, polished brake booster, and polished radiator. The power gets put down to the pavement with the help of a Ford 9 rear end that is powder coated black, the underbody of this car is just as clean and polished as the rest of the car.
