Initially called the Type 14 it would take the chassis and mechanicals from the Type 1 Beetle and the body would be styled by Carrozzeria Ghia and built by Karmann. Over the course of nearly 20 years production would pump out nearly half a million Ghias in Germany. Here we have a 73 model and wow she is sharp! This car has an incredible build, more on that shortly. The green paint looks very sharp. Its not bright or dark, more of a teal green. The tan colored soft top goes well with the color, looks in good shape, and operates manually with ease. Inside you will find a tan vinyl interior to match the top and is in great shape. Vegas are often talked about being one of the smallest rear wheel drive platforms that you can fit a decent sized v8 in even though they never came optioned with a V8 from the factory. Under that cowl hood is an extremely healthy 355 chevy V8 under the hood that runs and sounds great. From the top to the bottom we have a demon carb, Edelbrock intake, aluminum heads, roller rockers, and all of this is breathing through Hooker super-comp headers. Backing the engine and putting the power down is a 350 turbo transmission and a 9 Pro Iron Cased rear end with 4.57 gears that was built by Andy McCoy race cars. This setup is downtuned for reliability and still makes 416 horsepower at 410-foot pounds of torque with it having the potential to make more, but already having more than enough power to glue driver and passengers to the backs of their seats. Backing this monster of an engine, a 4R70W automatic transmission is backing it and is built up being rated to handle 700 horsepower which is transferred back to a rear axle sporting 4:10 ratio ring and pinion gear courtesy of Ford Racing. You put this drivetrain all together and you get one mean, fast, and intimidating machine that is easy to operate. This C10 is powered by a strong running 350 V8 with all of the polished and chrome goodies that you could need, paired to a smooth shifting Turbo 400 Automatic transmission and both the engine and transmission were rebuilt recently. This amazing custom C10 is finished off in a stunning Burgundy with a Black and Red Interior. Dakota Digital Gauges have been added and are a great addition to the interior. This truck retains its original bench seat which has been reupholstered in the burgundy and black that you see now.
