Description:

This 1942 Ford Coupe Super Deluxe is for sale in our Louisville showroom. 1942 Is a special year for Ford as they halted their car and truck production line in preparation for WWII production. There was a short run of cars produced up until February 10th 1942 that were sold to the general public and it would be the last batch until July of 45 for the 46 model year. This 1942 Super Deluxe Coupe is all an unrestored survivor with its 221 CID v8 and 3 speed column shift manual transmission. The Ford Flathead produced a stout 90 hp from the factory and some Edelbrock heads have been added to give some better airflow. This pre war icon rolled into our showroom showing 90,800 miles on the clock. The original electrical system has been switched out for a 12 volt system. While she has already seen some years and could tell many stories, she is sure to be ready for more. The exterior is sporting its original chrome and the black paint is in true survivor status with patina to show its many years of hard work and dependability. The original “Mohair interior is in good shape and brings you back to a simpler time before luxury meant leather everywhere you look. While Fords focus may have shifted to cheaper government and military supply vehicles, they did not slouch their final year before the WWII production take over. To view this 1942 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe in greater detail, including an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1981 Ford Shay Model A. Back in the late 70s and early 80s it seems that the automotive world was flooded with replicas of every make and model, from Auburns to Zimmers you had it all. Harry Shay, the man behind the Model A Motor Car Reproduction Corporation, saw a gap in the market and stepped up to the plate. Shay had probably one of the best marketing strategies ever seen, which was to send a replica to every Ford dealer in network. This idea caught like wildfire and the publicity was incredible, from showroom walk-in traffic to being a featured prize on The Price is Right it was hard to miss and ad for a shay in the early 80s. This particular Shay is yello and has a black cloth convertible top. Under the hood is the Ford 2.3L I-4 mated to an automatic 4-speed transmission. This daily driven Shay gets attention wherever it goes and turns heads at every car show. The interior has been done in black vinyl including the rumble seat. This 1981 Ford Shay Model A is for sale in our St. Louis Showroom and can be seen in great detail including 100+ HD Pictures and an HD video at gatewayclassiccars.com. For additional information please call our knowledgeable staff at (618)271-300 or email us at STL@gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to present this 1946 Ford Super Deluxe for Sale! an Excerpt from the Foreword section of the original owners manual… “The fact that you are the owner of a new Ford car is, in itself, an indication that you have a keen appreciation of a well-designed, carefully manufactured automobile. It has been designed to perform faithfully for many thousands of miles, and Ford Motor Company has the utmost confidence that this car will fulfill your expectations. I think this wraps it up nicely!ExteriorOlder Grey Point Job, well-worked bulbous steel panels, and plenty of well-preserved trim spears, bumpers, badging, and brite-work. In 1946 fenders still protruded from the main body, and a running board became a flared rocker, but the curved steel styling remained, and it would be a few more years until the fenders would melt into the bodies. Chrome steel wheels sport chrome trim rings, and dog dish hub caps, and are wrapped in wide whites all around.InteriorVery nice vertical stitched and tactile broadcloth in a mixture of light and dark gray covers the door panels, with just a hint of carpet on the bottom. Nice shiny knobs and handles are in this tactile field of broadcloth. Turning our attention to the seats we note the same broadcloth making up the seats, which are bolstered in shiny gray vinyl to add some edging to the front split-bench and rear bench seats. The upholstery is just beautiful in this car. Matching gray metal with almost as much chrome put over it, the dash front is like the car was originally built in the art deco style. 2 large round gauges in the form of a clock and speedometer flank a center located radio and chromed speaker cover. On the drivers side are 4 rectangular gauges with a black dot pattern on a white field, then some gold accenting has been added. They just dont make use of a color like this anymore. An original bakelite steering wheel fronts the dash and the center badge in it is to die for, all in gold and Ford badged glory. Nice gray carpet and tight headliner about above and below.DrivetrainA 239ci flathead V8 showing beautiful patina has a 2-barrel carburetor which is protected by an oil bath air cleaner. A 3-speed manual transmission is on the back, as a 3.78 gear ratio brings up the rear.Undercarriagesome road dirt and some nice patina cover a solid foundation with no structural damage seen. Transverse leaf springs make up the suspension all around as do drum brakes. Drive-AbilityThis car starts right up and runs very smoothly. It shifts easily and turns on a dime, as well as a great cruiser. 60 MPH is certainly attainable, and a comfortable interior leads to a pleasurable experience with the drive. This Ford is for sale by our Dallas Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars .com. Description:

Go Pack(ard) GO!!!! We have an awe inspiring 1950 Packard Deluxe 8. This is decked out to commemorate the Green Bay Packers. It features a 288 Straight 8 with a Chrysler Torqueflight 727 3 speed automatic transmission which transfers power back to a 1952 Packard rear axle featuring a 3:55 gear ratio. It also has an FM chip installed in the radio to allow FM stations to come through on the factory radio. Take this beauty tailgating to all the games, you will not be disappointed in the amount of heads that will turn while driving this beauty! Although the postwar Packards sold well, the ability to distinguish expensive models from lower-priced models disappeared as all Packards, whether sixes or eights, became virtually alike in styling. Further, amid a booming sellers market, management had decided to direct the company more to volume middle-class models, thus concentrating on selling lower-priced cars instead of more expensive--and more profitable--models. Worse, they also tried to enter the taxi cab and fleet car market. The idea was to gain volume for the years ahead, but that target was missed: Packard simply was not big enough to offer a real challenge to the Big Three, and lacked the deep pockets with which a parent company could shelter them, as well as the model lineup through which to spread the pricing. As a result, Packards image as a luxury brand was further eroded. As Packard lost buyers of expensive cars, it could not find enough customers for the lesser models to compensate. The shortage of raw materials immediately after the war--which was felt by all manufacturers--hurt Packard more with its volume business than it would have had it had focused on the specialty luxury car market. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1950 Packard Deluxe 8 in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a super clean 1974 Grand Prix Model J. There is a class of vehicle which is becoming more and more difficult to find: original and unrestored. With the popularity of resto-mods, or complete frame off restorations, there are fewer and fewer survivors out there. This particular 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix is an unrestored car with 54,986 original miles. The engine and trans are original and believed to have never been out of the car. It has the 400 CID V8 and an automatic which run and shift beautifully. The exterior is green which is in surprising great shape for the age of the vehicle. Needless to say, most mid 70s muscle cars have either been wrapped around trees or rusted to pieces. It great to see such a well-preserved piece of Pontiac history. Opening the door is like stepping back in time. The green upholstery is in wonderful condition as is the dash and steering wheel. This was a high line vehicle in the 70s, so its loaded with all the goodies: Air Conditioning, AM/FM/Cassette, power steering, power brakes, and even power windows! Whether youre a Pontiac collector, or just entering the classic car hobby, this cream puff 1974 Grand Prix Model J would be a great addition to any collection. Gateway Classic Cars of Nashville Tennessee is proud to digitally present this stunning 1986 Cadillac Brougham D ’Elegance. This beautiful 1986 Cadillac Brougham for sale is coated in a beautiful Desert Frost that is sure to grab on looker’s attention! Powering this Caddy’ for sale is a 5.0L V8, this will give you plenty of pep to your step. Backing this powerplant is a smooth shifting automatic transmission, giving you that floating on a cloud feeling! This 1986 Cadillac for sale has been well cared for and driven very sparely in fact with just a little over 91,820 miles on the odometer and the car being 37 years old, the math says this car has been driven just 2,550.5 miles a year. Looking at this the other way, an average for any standard vehicle is about 12,000 miles a year, so 12,000 X 37 = 444,000 this equals the number of miles an average 1986 Cadillac has on it, fun mathing facts! This 1986 Cadillac Brougham for sale looks like it has even less mileage on it. This Cadillac for sale has been in the same family since its original purchase, that is a very rare quality that we do not see that often. The interior looks like it was sat on, once! As far as the way it rides and drive, well, it is a Cadillac. Plenty of power and weight to smooth out any potholes you might encounter. In fact, we all know that driving a car like this is a lot like driving your living room complete with the sofa. Luxury was the name of the game for Cadillac in the early 80’s, style and class have always been a part of the Cadillac name. Now while it does not have road mapping sensors that lock your latte down if it sees rough road ahead it does have the power equipment that we have come to expect with the Cadillac name. Options for this 1988 Cadillac Brougham D ‘Elegance includes: Air conditioning, AM/FM Cassette, Power steering, Power brakes, Power windows, Power locks, Power seats, Power locks, Anti- lock brakes, Tilt steering, Plush Leather interior and Radial white wall tires wrapped around classic steel wheels adorned with chrome wire caps. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Denver welcomes this 1973 Buick Riviera! The Buick Riviera is a personal luxury car produced by Buick from 1963 to 1999. GMs first entry into that prestige niche, the Riviera was highly praised by automotive journalists upon its high-profile debut. While early models stayed close to the original form, eight subsequent generations varied substantially over the Rivieras thirty-year lifespan. In all, 1,127,261 were produced. The Riviera name had been used by Buick starting with the 1949 model to designate a hardtop body style, right through a large top-of-the-line six-window 1962 Electra 225 hardtop. The crisply styled, ground-up design that debuted 1963 was Buicks first unique Riviera model, and pioneered the GM E platform. The Riviera name was resurrected for concept cars displayed at auto shows in 2007 and 2013 in hopes of reintroducing the marque, but no plans to do so are currently in place. Unlike its subsequent GM E platform stablemates, the Oldsmobile Toronado and Cadillac Eldorado, the Riviera was initially a standard front engine/rear-wheel drive platform, only becoming front wheel drive starting in 1979 as part of a sweeping move in that direction by the American automobile industry. The Riviera was radically redesigned for the 1971 model year with flowing and dramatic boat-tail styling.[21] Designed under Bill Mitchells direction, it was penned by Jerry Hirshberg, future head of design for Nissan, mating the two-piece vee-butted[8]:792 fastback rear window, inspired by the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray split window coupe, to the Rivieras platform. The design was originally intended for the smaller GM A platform, and the use of the Rivieras body—expanded for 1971 by 3 in (76 mm) in wheelbase and more than 120 lb (54 kg) heavier—produced controversial looks. (Collectible Automobile ran an article about 1971-76 full-sized Buicks in which one sketch design for their 2-door coupes which was rejected resembled the 1971-73 Riviera). This generation introduced a much more visual representation of the sweepspear, with a more faithful representation to the version that appeared on 1950s Buicks in both the side molding and beltline. The 455 engine had a lower compression ratio to meet EPA emissions requirements, reducing power to 255 hp (190 kW), with 265 hp (198 kW) in the Gran Sport. Performance remained reasonably brisk, with a 0-60 time of 8.1 seconds for the GS, but the Rivieras sporty image was rapidly fading. One noteworthy advance was Buicks Max Trac limited-slip differential.[22] The 1971 Riviera also features GMs Full-Flo ventilation system and two large deck lid louvers are prominent on the trunk lid. (Unfortunately, under certain conditions a vacuum was created that sucked rain and exhaust back into the car and the Full-Flo ventilation was redesigned and the louvers were removed from trunk lid for the 1972 model year.) For 1973, the 250 hp (186 kW) engine became standard, with 260 hp (190 kW) with the Stage One package, which also included a limited slip differential and a chrome-plated air cleaner. The Gran Sport package was still available as a separate option package consisting of a ride-and-handling package that included a rear stabilizer bar, JR78-15 whitewall steel-belted radial tires, a specially tuned radial roadability suspension, additional sound insulation and special Gran Sport badging. Sluggish sales of the third generation Riviera led GM to believe that the boattail deck lid was too radical for most customers tastes, so in 1973 it was blunted and made slightly shorter. The design change however only led to a marginal increase in sales, with 34,080 being produced for the model year.
