Description:

For sale in Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is this 1981 Mercedes Benz-380SL. In 1980, Mercedes-Benz revamped its SL lineup of sporting luxury convertibles with the introduction of the 380SL. The 380 was an enhancement of the R107 chassis, which was first used in 1972 by the 350SL and then by the 450SL. This was an extremely popular model in the U.S. for its combination of V-8 power, refined luxury and sporty underneath carriage. The 380-SL was a lighter then its predecessor 450-SL, a 120 pounds lighter to be exact. Thus, it’s new V-8 3.8 liter engine was plenty of power for these vehicles. The new engine was designed with emissions controls in mind while the 450SL’s mill was not, which meant that the two engines were relatively equal in terms of power (155 hp in the 380SL vs. 160 hp in the 450SL) despite the difference in their displacements. Performance was similar for the two cars, as was fuel economy. This 1981 Mercedes Benz 380 SL has been family owned and passed down for over 25 years. All the paint has held up very well over the years. The interior is all original and pops with a bit of woodgrain installed in the dash. Another real stand out feature on this vehicle is those Dayton spoked wired wheels! Most certainly is going to catch anyone’s eye who sees them. To view this vehicle in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and videos, visit our website at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. The owner has also replaced the water pump, converted the AC to R134a, added a new AC compressor, & much more! Description:

Now for sale in our Milwaukee showroom is this unique 1984 Chevrolet Corvette. Between the sharp C4 lines and the relatively low mileage, this car will make an excellent driver. 1984 was the first year of the C4 body style. The C4 corvette brought back more powerful engines and the convertible option to the cars. This generation of corvette was also the first to have the Glass hatchback to allow for convenient storage in the rear. Braking was improved with aluminum calipers and new rotors. In the rear, the suspension was updated with a Fiberglass mono-leaf instead of a traditional leaf spring. Powering this sleek ride is a 5.7-liter Crossfire V8 that was good for 205 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. This power helped accelerate the car to 60 MPH in a little over 6 seconds when new. Sending the V8 power to the rear wheels is a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive that shifts smoothly through the gears. Overall this car runs well and would be a good driver or weekend cruiser. Moving outward, this sleek ride is finished with unique striping and multicolor Chameleon clearcoat. It’s a 1996 World of Wheels winner, and was awarded best-in-show in multiple shows over the years. Upon entering the interior, the driver will feel very comfortable thanks to the power leather seats which feature lumbar support. This car is loaded with amenities such as power mirrors, power windows, power brakes, power steering and power locks. In the summer months, the driver will appreciate the removable glass top that allows for plenty of sunshine and fresh air. When it comes time to listen to some driving music, the sound system in this car is sure to impress. This Corvette is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this cool 1988 Chevrolet 1500. Planning for the GMT400 began in the early 1980s. Production development for this body style began in early 1984 and were introduced in April 1987 as 1988 models as the GMT400 platform, and their nickname: OBS (Old Body Style). There were eight different versions of the C/K line for 1988. Fleetside Single Cab, and Fleetside Extended Cab, were the first chevy trucks to be available with this type of cab version, and the 1973 to 1987 C10s and C20s where only available with a single cab. Fleetside Crew Cab, and Stepside Single Cab models, each in either 2WD (C) or 4WD (K) drive-lines were also available. All C/K models would ride on independent front suspension. Three trim levels were available: Cheyenne, Scottsdale, and Silverado. Engines were a 160 hp (119 kW) 4.3 L V6, a 175 hp (130 kW) 5.0 L V8, a 210 hp (157 kW) 5.7 L V8 and a 6.2 L diesel V8. A 230 hp (172 kW) 7.4 L V8 was available in the 3/4-ton and one-ton trucks. Most of the powertrain were a carryover from the 1987 R/V with fuel injection. To enhance durability the trucks featured extensive use of galvanized steel for corrosion resistance and a fully welded frame with a boxed front section for strength and rigidity.[71] During the development of the GMT400 platform GM designers based their prototypes on the compact GMT325 S-series (S10 and S15/Sonoma) - upon the official release the GMT400 were the first GM vehicles to use an electronic speedometer, and a serpentine accessory drive. This awesome edition of the 1988 Chevrolet 1500 is running a 5.7 V8 and an Automatic Transmission. Description:

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 40th Anniversary Edition 1993 Chevrolet Corvette. This C4 Corvette is finished in the beautiful Ruby Red on Ruby Red color combination. This is a 40th Anniversary Edition only combination. Powering this 93 Corvette is a 350 CID LT1 V8 engine with an SLP 3 Cone air intake system. An automatic transmission transfers the 300 horsepower to the rear wheels with ease. The odometer reads 77,463, which represents the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1993 Chevrolet Corvette include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Cruise Control, Tilt Wheel, Targa Top, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Leather Interior, Power Seats, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Locks, Driver Airbag, and Anti-Lock Brakes. The fourth generation or C4 Corvette debuted in 1984. It was slated for 1983, but part delays and quality issues resulted in only 43 prototype Corvettes being produced in 1983, which were never sold. The C4 was the first complete redesign for the Corvette since the C2 Corvette in 1963. New for the C4 were an all-aluminum suspension and aluminum brake calipers which provided rigidity and ample weight savings. The classic T-Top style roof was replaced with a Targa roof, a one piece removable roof panel that did not require the center bar in the middle, which provided a more open air feel and look. As the years went by for the C4, design and styling cues got better and better. By 1993 the exterior and interior designs were set for the remainder of the C4 run, and the LT1 V8 engine was slated as the base engine as well. Only the ZR-1 and Grand Sport in 1996 options boasted a better performing engine choice going forward. C4 Corvettes are a value and a half for the price you pay and the car you get. They are a blast to drive, and tend to be pretty easy on the pocket book. Description:

For sale in our Detroit Showroom is a very unique 1978 Buick Regal Turbo Coupe. Buicks V6 story dates back to the early sixties when it debuted the engine in 1962. In the time of cheap gas and big V8s, the V6 wasnt very popular, so in 1966, Buick sold the tooling to Kaiser Jeep (later part of American Motors Corp.) where it found its way into many Jeep vehicles. But by 1974, small displacement and fuel economy were the direction of the future and Buick bought back the little V6 from AMC. With the success of the 76 Pace Car, Buick began work to adapt the Turbo V6 to production vehicles. The idea was performance and economy. Buick wasnt trying to make a musclecar, but rather a compromise between the V-8 power and V-6 fuel economy. In 1978, Buick added the Turbo 3.8 231 cid V6 to newly designed Regal and LeSabre. Both cars were given the model designation Sport Coupe. Each subsequent year, engineers refined the little Turbo V6. It found its way into several models, including the FWD Riviera and Chevrolets Monte Carlo, but the most popular model, by far, was the Regal. This 1978 Regal is dressed in Brown with a Light Tan interior that looks amazing. The sound that this turbo generates makes driving this beautiful Buick intoxicating. With under 40,000 original miles, you can guarantee that this Buick has plenty of life left for its next owner. Description:

The Louisville Showroom is proud to present this 1977 MG MGB for sale. In structure the MGB was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGBs. However, components such as brakes and suspension were developments of the earlier 1955 MGA with the B-Series engine having its origins in 1947. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable drivers compartment offered plenty of legroom. A parcel shelf was fitted behind the seats. This MGB has money and an owners love poured into maintaining a great running and driving MG. With only 60000 actual miles on this little Gem, this MGB will provide years of enjoyment. This MGB has been refreshed by the owner with an all new interior, so you can drive this British motorcar legend with confidence and enjoyment.
