Description:

Gateway Classic Cars Dallas is proud to present something Special. a 1939 Buick Special 46 Business Coupe to be exact. Building something different is the whole point of street rodding, but sometimes it seems like everything different has already been done. This Buick business coupe proves that guys are still finding out-of-the-ordinary cars to build--and turning them into cool street rods. A Buick business coupe is kind of a contradiction, the no-frills model of an upscale marque. In building this one they didnt disguise the cars on-the-job identity, ghey turned it into something classy. This car spent many years in Pennsylvania under a handful of owners. Just a few months before the builder started their search, the Buick had migrated southwest, ending up at a restoration shop in West Fort Worth about 30 miles from our dealership. It was in excellent condition. The Buick business coupe was just what the owner wanted, but wasnt quite the way he wanted it. In the five years that followed, the Buick underwent an extensive transformation. Modifications to the chassis were handled by Nathan Hale at Hales Speed Shop in Lewisvillle, Texas. The center X-member was removed from the factory frame and the rails were boxed. The frontend was converted to a Fatman Fabrications MII Stage II system, with 2-inch drop spindles for a street rod stance and a power rack for effortless maneuvering. Ride quality is improved by QA1 shocks and springs mounted all around. A Quick Performance Racing 9-inch rearend has 3.90:1 gears in a Traction-Lok limited slip differential, spinning 31-spline axles. The brakes were upgraded to Wilwood 11-inch discs in front and 11-inch rear drums, plumbed to a reverse 90-degree underdash master cylinder and booster setup from Kugel Komponents. The project called for modern power and a GM 376ci LS3 525 Crate engine answers the call loud and clear, producing 525 hp and 435 lb-ft of torque. Polished stainless steel fuel rail covers from American Car Craft dress up the engine. The Spectre Performance intake system draws cold air from the rear of the engine compartment through filtered intake tubes feeding a custom throttle body. The 3-inch exhaust system is capped with mufflers from AA Muffler and Brake in Irving, Texas. Torque is delivered to the rear wheels via a 4L70E transmission and a driveshaft from Automotive Driveline Supply. For the bodywork and paint, they took the Buick to Charlie Canalizo of Leezo Brothers Auto Crafters, who had also worked on the Chevy truck. Other than taking care of the minor displays of rust, Canalizo kept the Buicks distinct lines unmodified. Mild customization was limited to such details as pulled in bumpers, 7-inch Snake-Eye headlight lenses, custom LED taillights from Lambert Enterprises, and smoothed decklid. The paint, shot by Canalizo, is a metallic dark chocolate Bentley hue called Havana. Classy and distinct, its the perfect color for a Buick street rod. The owner made a smart choice in finishing the outward appearance with understated and retro wheels. The Wheel Vintiques 20 Series Solid wheels with caps and rings measure 15 inches. The wide whitewall tires are 235/70R15s and 185/70R15 BFGoodrich Silvertown radials. On the inside, they maintained the utilitarian style of a business coupe, but with the elegance suited to a Buick--and the combination is amazing. At Compton Custom Interiors in Fort Worth, the plain original seats and original-style door panels were covered in tan hides from Replicate Custom Leather. In the back, the marginally existent opera seats were replaced by a leather-covered interior trunk with the look of vintage luggage. The German square weave carpet takes the elegance level up one more notch. Vintage Series gauges from Classic Instruments were the ideal choice to fill the original dash; the LimeWorks 16-inch 1940-style steering wheel and 1940 Ford-style column fit the look of the car just as well. Compton Custom Interiors installed the stereo system (with Audison processor, JL Audio amp, and Alpine speakers) out of the way, to avoid clashing in appearance. The Vintage Air A/C is also installed practically invisibly. This build was finished in 2016 and has 1200 Miles on it, going long distances and performing. This excellent one of a kind streetrod is equipped with modern amenities, power disc brakes, power steering, AC, Backup camera, AM FM Bluetooth radio, Fuel Imjected modern drivtrain and suspension. This Special Buick can only be found at the Gateway Classic Cars Dallas Showroom, Please give us a call at 817-310-9400 or email Dallas@GatewayClassicCars.com

Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this stunning 1957 Jaguar XK140 Roadster. Following hot on the heels of Jaguars sensational XK120, the XK140 debuted in 1955 featuring several improvements designed to address customer complaints with the 120. Thankfully, Jaguar was able to retain the arresting good looks of the original design, while allowing for more room and better-balanced handling. The XK140s larger full-width bumpers and thin chrome strips on the bonnet and boot lids were the first giveaways, however, the most significant changes came under the skin, with major improvements made to the handling and braking. A more precise rack and pinion steering system replaced the 120s worm-and-sector steering box, and the old-style lever-action dampers were ditched in favor of modern telescopic dampers. The four-wheel drum brakes were improved with new lining materials and an upgraded master cylinder. As with the XK120, customers could choose between a fixed-head coupe (now with a pair of tiny back seats), a luxurious drophead coupe, or the sporty and sparse open two-seat roadster. The standard XK140 now featured the 190-horsepower engine from the XK120 SE, with the option of upwards of 210 horsepower available with the SE package and “C-Type high-flow cylinder head. The XK140 was only in production for a short period before the heavily revised XK150 replaced it. As a result, fewer than 9,000 were built between October 1954 and January 1957, making it the rarest of all three variants of the XK. Todays collectors appreciate the XK140 since it retains the pure beauty of the XK120 while offering superior on-road ability and comfort. This gorgeous 50s two-seater embodies all of what it means to be a true European roadster. Its Bright Blue finish pairs amazingly well with the Saddle Brown leather interior speaks to its class as well. The curves on this Jag will have any car enthusiast drooling. Powering this sport luxury vehicle is a 3.4L double overhead cam, inline 6-cylinder engine that produced a very pleasing amount of power for its time. These cars make great weekend cruisers and they are an absolute blast to drive. Stand out at your local car show with one of these rare classic beauties. They are becoming harder and harder to find in this condition. Do not miss you chance to own one! Call us today. This one wont last long. This 1957 Jaguar XK 140 Roadster is for sale in our Orlando Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Now featuring at the Milwaukee Showroom at Gateway Classic Cars is this hot red 1992 Chevrolet Corvette. The C4 Corvette represented a clean break from the Zora Arkus-Duntov-designed C3, with a completely new chassis and sleeker, more modern but still evolutionary styling. It was the work of a team under chief Corvette designer Dave McLellan, whod taken over from Duntov in 1975. This Chevy is bound to receive attention while prominently featuring a white convertible top against the cherry red paint job which makes for playful yet beautiful contrast. Under the hood of this Corvette lies a LT1 V8 engine bolted to a 6-speed manual transmission ensuring the most exhilarating experience offer able by this model. As if the 300-horsepower power plant wasnt enough to make this a thrill machine; a Vortech supercharger has been paired with a cold air intake to add more power to an already legendary powertrain. In a departure from the fiberglass panels of its forebearers, the C4s rear bumpers and panels were made from molding plastics, a sheet molding compound. The C4 fastback coupe was the first general production Corvette to have a glass hatchback (the limited edition 1982 Collector Edition being the first Corvette equipped with this feature) for better storage access. The Corvette C4 came standard with an electronic dashboard with a digital liquid crystal display dash, with graphics for speed and RPM and digital displays for other important engine functions. This 1992 Chevrolet Corvette is available at our Milwaukee Showroom at Gateway Classic Cars and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com which includes 100+ HD photos and HD video. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars are excited to present this handsome 1966 Ford Ranchero at our Milwaukee location. The Ford Ranchero was manufactured between 1957 and 1979. Built on a two- door station wagon platform intergrading a cab and cargo bed into the body. The original Ranchero was so successful that General Motors got into the Car/ pickup craze with the Chevrolet El Camino in 1959. Over its lifespan, the Ranchero was produced on compact, mid-sized and full -size platforms. Considered an alternative utility vehicle, the Ranchero took on a cult following for customers who had no interest in a full -size pickup truck. A following that led to 508,000 units sold during its production run. Our 1966 Ford is a great example of the third generation Ranchero. Based on the Ford Falcon platform, new revised styling gave the 1966 Ranchero a sportier new look. A heater-defroster became standard along with a premium interior package. This 1966 Ranchero comes in a sexy red paint scheme with a custom black velour interior. Accented by new mag wheels mounted on new set of raised white tires. Under the hood is a 200 cubic inch engine attached to a 3-speed column mounted manual transmission. Recent mechanical work has been done including a new manifold, master cylinder, front wheel brake cylinders. Front brake hoses, and new door weather stripping. This 1966 Ford Ranchero is ready for any weekend chores or just a relaxing day at your local car show. We have a 1987 Mercedes 560SL for sale here in our Milwaukee location. It features silver paint and a blue interior. An all original 5.6l with a 4 speed auto transmission. The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a grand touring car manufactured by Mercedes since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sportlich-Leicht, (English: Sport Lightweight). The original idea was suggested by American importer Max Hoffman, who perceived a market for a toned-down Gran Prix car tailored to affluent performance enthusiasts in the booming post-war American market, which remains the primary market for the vehicles. The SL designation was first applied to the 300 SL, often referred to as the Gullwing due to its gullwing or upward-opening doors. The term SL refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning six design generations. The 300 SL base model was available as standard in a 5-speed manual although very few were sold. The SOHC 6 cylinder M103 is typically considered to have handling advantages with its lighter weight engine. The 560 SL was only sold in the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia to compensate the reduced output of the 5.0-litres due to the stricter emission laws in these markets. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1987 Mercedes 560SL in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is excited to offer this sharp 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger. This car has its original numbers matching engine, transmission, rear end and gearing. The Dodge Dart is an automobile originally built by Dodge from 1960 to 1976 in North America, with production extended to later years in various other markets. The Dart name originally appeared on a 1957 show car featuring a body designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia. The production Dart was introduced as a lower-priced, shorter wheelbase, full-size Dodge in 1960 and 1961, became a mid-size car for 1962, and finally was a compact from 1963 to 1976. In 1974, the US federal 5 mph bumper impact standards were expanded to cover rear bumpers as well as front ones, and as a result the Swinger and Dart sedans rear bumpers grew much more massive. Taillights larger than the previous years items were set above the rear bumper, rather than within it. Shoulder and lap belts were finally combined in all Chrysler products into a retractable, inertia-sensitive, single-buckle design Chrysler called Unibelt, replacing the difficult-to-use separate lap and shoulder belts that had been installed through 1973. The Arab oil embargo of 1973, increased sales of smaller cars in the U.S. Dodge introduced the Dart SE (Special Edition) in mid-1974 as a four-door sedan and two-door hardtop. The SE included velour high back bucket seats with folding armrest, carpeted door panels, woodgrain instrument panel and deluxe wheel covers along with a TorqueFlite automatic transmission as standard equipment. The SE came equipped with the Quiet Car package introduced in 1973. The air conditioning system available on all Darts had increased capacity, quicker cooldown and lower minimum temperatures. An evaporator pressure regulator valve, long used on larger Chrysler products, varied the compressors capacity without cycling the clutch. The Dart Sport 340 was replaced by the Dart Sport 360 245 Bhp. as the 360 cu in (5.9 L) V8 engine replaced the 340 cu in (5.6 L) engine discontinued after 1973. This 360 V8 engine has about 115k actual miles and still runs and drives top notch. Painted in a dark orange with black hood scoops and rear stripe, this car is a true head turner. The black vinyl interior is in great condition along with the dash and headliner. Options on this Dart include; A/C, AM radio with upgraded speakers, power brakes and steering, vinyl interior, Weld Racing wheels, and radial tires.Do not miss out on this beauty! This 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to offer this super unique Corvette. There just might not be a bigger bang for the buck anywhere in our inventory than this 1984 Chevrolet Corvette. Now you may already be saying to yourself that an 84 Corvette is nothing special, but take a closer look: theres a 383 cubic inch stroker motor under the hood, fully functional A/C, and a long list of upgrades that make this car more than a match for cars costing thousands more, and 5500 Original Miles on the Chassis. Theres a certain appeal to the first of the all-new C4 Corvettes. Imagine the impression of seeing this car for the first time after more than 15 years of the C3; it must have been revolutionary. And its held up rather well, with clean lines that are unmistakably Corvette. The two-tone bronze finish was the poster car for much of Chevys advertising around the new Vette and you have to admit that it still looks pretty good. Sure, its obviously an 84, but its cool the way your favorite old jeans are cool and nobody thinks of a guy driving an 84 Vette as pretentious. Its in pretty darned nice shape, too, as if someone has always loved it and treated it as a special car. Gaps are good, which shouldnt be a surprise because the C4s were quite well built, and theres a uniform shine that extends to the bumper covers, which are usually the first things to start to show their age. This is one heck of a good-looking car! The C4s interior was cutting-edge tech in 1984, and this one shows it rather well. The brown leather upholstery actually conveys a high-end, luxurious look that is far from dated and actually looks pretty contemporary given the recent trend towards natural colors. The seats are in excellent condition with only very minor signs of use and the carpets have obviously been protected all their lives. Even the door panels look fresh, with their two-tone detailing and not so much as a dent where the driver might have rested his elbow. The digital gauges are perhaps the most gee whiz part of the design, and they remain bright and clear, conveying information with easy-to-understand displays. Theres also a great-sounding Kenwood stereo system, functional A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a tilt wheel, so theres really no reason why you wont enjoy driving this Corvette. Even the hatch area doesnt show any UV damage and offers a good amount of storage for road trips. The original Crossfire injected 350 cubic inch V8 has been dumped in favor of a recent 383 cubic inch stroker motor that probably doubles the original engines output. The injection is gone, replaced by a 4-barrel carburetor and a few well-chosen billet aluminum and chrome pieces really dress up the engine bay. An all-new serpentine belt drive system with new accessories from March gives it a big boost in the reliability department and the ignition is by MSD so it fires up easily even without the EFI. Long-tube headers feed a brand new dual exhaust system that sounds spectacular and the 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission was always the right choice in an early C4. The underside is shockingly clean, with nice floors and clean suspension components that strongly suggest this car has never spent a day in the snow and salt. And I, for one, love the early C4 aluminum wheels, which are aerodynamic and functional, with these wearing fat 255/50/16 BFGoodrich radials. You can still get a lot of performance for your money, and nowhere is that better illustrated than with this clean 84 Corvette. Options on this 1984 Chevrolet Corvette include; Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Removable top, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Seats, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Anti-Lock Brakes, Tilt Wheel, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. To view this 1984 Chevrolet Corvette in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Dallas showroom.
