Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Denver is proud to offer this 1968 Volkswagen Beetle The Volkswagen Beetle—officially the Volkswagen Type 1, informally in German the Käfer (meaning beetle), in parts of the English-speaking world the Bug,[11] and known by many other nicknames in other languages—is a two-door, rear-engine economy car, intended for five occupants (later, Beetles were restricted to four people in some countries),[12][13][14] that was manufactured and marketed by German automaker Volkswagen (VW) from 1938 until 2003.[15] The need for a peoples car (Volkswagen in German, and in the English-speaking world in the early 20th century as folks wagon), its concept and its functional objectives were formulated by the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, who wanted a cheap, simple car to be mass-produced for his countrys new road network (Reichsautobahn). Members of the National Socialist party, with an additional dues surcharge, were promised the first production, but civil war in Spain shifted most production resources to military vehicles instead to support Francisco Franco. Lead engineer Ferdinand Porsche and his team took until 1938 to finalise the design. Béla Barényi[16] is credited with first conceiving the original design for this car in 1925, notably by Mercedes-Benz, on their website, including his original technical drawing,[17][18] five years before Porsche claimed to have done his initial version.[19] The influence on Porsches design of other contemporary cars, such as the Tatra V570, and the work of Josef Ganz remains a subject of dispute.[20] The result was the first Volkswagen, and one of the first rear-engined cars since the Brass Era. With 21,529,464 produced,[21] the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single platform ever made. Although designed in the 1930s, due to World War II, civilian Beetles only began to be produced in significant numbers by the end of the 1940s. The car was then internally designated the Volkswagen Type 1, and marketed simply as the Volkswagen. Later models were designated Volkswagen 1200, 1300, 1500, 1302, or 1303, the former three indicating engine displacement, the latter two derived from the model number. The car became widely known in its home country as the Käfer (German for beetle, cognate with English chafer) and was later marketed under that name in Germany,[4] and as the Volkswagen in other countries. For example, in France it was known as the Coccinelle (French for ladybug).[1][2] In 1943, Roy Fedden applied for a patent,[22] GB570814, Improvements relating to road vehicles, a car identical to VW Käfer. The original 25 hp Beetle was designed for a top speed around 100 km/h (62 mph), which would be a viable cruising speed on the Reichsautobahn system. As Autobahn speeds increased in the postwar years, its output was boosted to 36, then 40 hp, the configuration that lasted through 1966 and became the classic Volkswagen motor. The Beetle gave rise to multiple variants: mainly the 1950 Type 2 Bus, the 1955 Karmann Ghia, as well as the 1961 Type 3 Ponton and the 1968 Type 4 (411/412) family cars, ultimately forming the basis of an entirely rear-engined VW product range. The Beetle thus marked a significant trend, led by Volkswagen, and then by Fiat and Renault, whereby the rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout increased from 2.6 percent of continental Western Europes car production in 1946 to 26.6 percent in 1956.[23] In 1959 even General Motors launched an air-cooled, rear-engined car, the Chevrolet Corvair—which even shared the Beetles flat engine and swing axle architecture. Over time, front-wheel drive, and frequently hatchback-bodied cars would come to dominate the European small-car market. In 1974, Volkswagens own front-wheel drive Golf hatchback succeeded the Beetle. In 1994, Volkswagen unveiled the Concept One, a retro-themed concept car with a resemblance to the original Beetle, and in 1998 introduced the New Beetle, built on the contemporary Golf platform with styling recalling the original Type 1. It remained in production through 2010, and was succeeded in 2011 by the Beetle (A5), the last variant of the Beetle, which was also more reminiscent of the original Beetle. Production ceased altogether by 2019.[24] In the 1999 Car of the Century competition, to determine the worlds most influential car in the 20th century, the Type 1 came fourth, after the Ford Model T, the Mini, and the Citroën DS.[2 For additional information please call our sales staff at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@GatewayClassicCars.com.To view 3000+ classics or exotics, please visit: https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/ To sell your classic or exotic please call us - (303) 872-4722 or visit: https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/fluid-sell-my-classic-car

Mercedes-Benzs elegant Paul Bracq-designed W111 made its debut in 1959 and was produced, in its many variations, through 1971. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 2012 COPO Camaro for sale by our Indianapolis Showroom. This vehicle has never been raced and has had less than a mile of driving, so it is ready for the next owner to preserve this piece of history or go to the track and experience what all of the hype surrounding COPOs is about. The COPO Camaro began in 1969 when a group of car enthusiasts working at Chevrolet discovered that they could use the Central Office Production Order (COPO for short) to order Camaros with specific options that would bump horsepower. With this hacking of the ordering system, these enthusiasts were able to craft and drag ready Camaro from the factory. In 2012 the COPO Camaro was reintroduced for the fifth generation of Camaros and only 69 were produced. This particular COPO is equipped with the 327 Cubic Inch V8 with the 4.0L Whipple Supercharger. In order to assure the fastest passes possible, a Powerglide transmission was installed by the factory to help propel this rocket down the track. Other parts that distinguish this vehicle from a typical Camaro are the chromoly roll cage, racing fuel cell, racing harnesses, a kill switch, racing wheels, drag radials, racing seats, and Posi Traction. This 2012 COPO Camaro is featured in our Indianapolis showroom and can be seen in detail including 100+ HD photos and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For additional information please call our staff at (317) 688-1100 or email us at Indianapolis@GatewayClassicCars.com. Under the hood youll find the original 396/350HP CID V8 as stated by the owner providing plenty of power to enjoy. The transmission is also said to be the original 4-speed and shifts through the powerband nicely. With roughly 3,000 miles on the restoration, you can certainly enjoy this American classic for many years to come. In back we have a 12-bolt posi-trac rear end featuring 3.31 gears. Equipped with Sanderson headers, and flowmaster exhaust, this 70 Chevelle certainly has the sound we all look for in a classic muscle car. Looking over the car youll be hard pressed to find anything that wasnt serviced, restored, or all together upgraded with a more efficient part. The paint on the car is one of the more iconic and desirable color combinations with Cranberry Red and Black Stripes. Complete with a sleek Canvass convertible top, you can drop it down on the nice cool days, and on the hotter ones keep it up and enjoy some cold blowing A/C. The interior much like the rest of the car has been completely refurbished back to its original glory and shows very well. From a fresh dash, to classic gauge cluster this car shows just as it would have rolling off the showroom floor in 1970. Description:

Now for sale at Gateways of Houston is this beautiful light blue 2010 Ferrari California. The California is a car filled with firsts for Ferrari: the first front-engine V-8, the first use of direct injection, the first seven-speed transmission, the first true launch-control system, the first retractable hardtop, and the first stacked exhaust. The direct injection helps improve mileage and decrease emissions but because the California is heavier than the F430 it shares its engine architecture with, the tuning is optimized to boost torque by 14 lb-ft at the expense of 29 horsepower, for a total of 454 hp and 357 lb-ft. All this power is sent through a Getrag dual-clutch paddle shifted seven speed transmission for smooth acceleration and lightning fast gear changes allowing this Italian grand touring car to sprint to 60mph in just 3.5 seconds and running a ¼ mile in just under 12 seconds at 117mph. The cars ceramic brakes have been fined tuned compared to the other Ferrari’s you’ll find on the road, so they are much more user friendly yet still responsive stopping this car at 60mph in just 100 feet. The California features an all new Chassis to help keep this hard top convertible rigid and agile in the corners. This car is a true driving pleasure as you would expect from Ferrari, the California turns mundane trips out into an experience and turns heads wherever you go. Featuring navigation, leather interior, power everything, self-leveling headlights, stability control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, driving zone, and cruise control. To see all the HD pictures and video please go to http://gatewayclassiccars.com/houston/2010/ferrari/california-S1040.html. Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is pleases to offer this gorgeous, restored 1967 Camaro Z28. Very rare Camaro painted in its original color of Butternut Yellow with Black Viynl Top. The car has been inspected and reviewed by Camaro aficionado Jerry MacNeish and he has certified this car as real and correct (see certificate in photo section). The Chevrolet Camaro stands out as one of the most popular pony cars ever produced. From 1967 to 1969 around 700,000 Camaros were produced. The Z28 performance package was the most desired option among these early Camaros. Designed to compete in the SCCA Trans Am Series, this package included a solid-lifter 302 CI V-8, 4-speed transmission, power disc brakes and two stripes ornamenting the hood and trunk lid. This rare 1967 Camaro Z28 stands out as one of just 602 Z28 cars produced in 1967, with only around 200 known to still exist today. A testament to authenticity, this car comes with its Numbers Matching Engine and Transmission, Verified by MacNiesh to have correct date code parts throughout, this Camaro faultlessly wears a Butternut Yellow paint job with two racing stripes and a black vinyl top. The original trim tag denotes this as a /4L-code Z28 Camaro, the significance of which should not be undervalued. the 4L refers to the 302 Z28 engine package, which produces an underrated 290 HP. Incredibly, this Camaro even sports the original 4-speed M21 transmission. The car rides on Rally wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wide Tread GT Bias Bly tires. Console Car with 3.73 Posi Rear End, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is sure to be a hit with any enthusiast or collector. By combining mechanical originality with well maintained documentation, this first-year Camaro is truly a significant investment level car. 2017 Good Guys Muscle Car Finalist. Shown at Camaro Nationals, Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, Concourse De Elegance Detroit and Arlington, F-Body Nationals Memphis, Was Used in GM Heritage Video as their Representative Z/28.
