Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is proud to present this completely custom 1949 Mercury 9CM Series Coupe. One look at this car and you know this is something special. The car was originally available with a base price of $1,945. This car underwent a frame off restoration by Big Dick’s Muscle Cars. One of the most obvious custom touches on this Mercury is the slammed stance thanks to its custom air ride suspension. Lower or raise the stance of the vehicle with the flick of a switch. The second most obvious touch on this Mercury is the 11 tooth grill by DeSoto. It gives this Coupe a signature look that is instantly recognizable. The car’s laser straight body is painted a beautiful Tuxedo Black with Mercedes Benz Silver and has a two-tone interior to match. This two-tone interior includes custom sewn front and rear seats, a custom center console with brushed aluminum insert, and a custom dash setup. 1952 Buick Super side trim is a beautiful touch to the exterior. Adding to the sleek appearance of this Coupe is the chopped roof, taking four and a half inches off the top. Additional modifications include the body being channeled, shaved, louvered, and Frenched. The car has a shaved hood, shaved doors, and shaved trunk. The car also has 1959 Cadillac taillights with Toronado brake lights under the rear window. This Mercury sits on a 1967 Ford Falcon Chassis. Disc Brakes up front with Ford Thunderbird calipers help this ’49 stop on a dime. The slammed body sits on four deep dish Colorado Custom billet wheels. Driving this Coupe is a pleasure thanks to power steering and power brakes. The sound system on this ride is quite impressive as well. It starts with a Pioneer DVD/CD receiver with Bluetooth. Then comes the 7-inch display with Bluetooth and Audi streaming. Sounds comes from 2 JL audio 6x9 speakers in the rear deck, 2 JL audio 6.5 speakers in the doors, 2 JL audio 1-inch tweeters, a JL audio 10-inch subwoofer, and finally a JL Audio 5 channel amplifier. The engine bay contains the original Ford 302cid engine that is decked out in aluminum with plenty of performance goodies. This flathead V8 has a Competition Cams camshaft and Edelbrock 600 CFM carburetor. The engine also has a Concept One accessory drive pulley kit. The motor is mated to a Ford automatic transmission with overdrive. Auto Meter gauges put the gauge setup in a very clean layout. It also has air conditioning! This car has power steering, power brakes, remote doors, air ride suspension, power locks, keyless entry, GPS, a DVD flat screen, door poppers and air conditioning. Overall this custom ride is simple yet sophisticated. This car will make a statement while moving or at a standstill. Wherever you go, you will not go unnoticed. Description:

For sale in our Atlanta showroom is a green 1934 Ford Sedan. This beauty was restored by the owner over many years, as it was a labor of Love and it shows! The Pacific Green paint is near flawless, and was laid out like the best of em! This is an all-steel body, even the fenders and running boards, and if you like suicide doors, she has them. The owner took the next step in elevating his prize, by adding a TCI chassis with coil overs and a 4-link. The tan leather interior is the perfect match for the color scheme, and completes the classic street rod look. The bench seat up front is a nice touch of yesterday, and just looks right. She is also optioned with an over-head console, and a Sony am/fm cassette deck mounted in it. A tilt steering wheel helps the easy in and easy out factor of this street rod, as it seems we are larger humans today, compared to 1934. Powering this 34 Ford is a 302 CID V8 engine with a C-4 automatic transmission, and 9 rear end, showing just 2,209-miles. Under the hood is also well detailed, with many chrome accents. Options for this 1934 Ford Sedan include: Tilt Wheel, Power Brakes, Vintage A/C, Power Windows, and Chrome Spoke Wheels. This 34 Ford is a great example of a street rod that could be driven and enjoyed in its current state, and place at any car show out there! Either way good times are sure to be had in this classic Ford Sedan. To view this 1934 Ford Sedan in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Atlanta Showroom. Description:

Very rare 1983 Oldsmobile Toronado Convertible.

Factory conversion probably handled by American Sunroof Comapny, numbers produced seem to be around 50 units, although, I have found one source that said nearly 200 Toro Convertibles were produced from 79-85. From what I have been able to glean from the ACCA, Olds forums and other resources, it is very difficult to be certain how many were made and if they were factory sanctioned or dealer upgrade items. Considering 300K Toronados were produced between 79-85, 50 is a VERY small amount.

A little about this particular Toro:
She was born in Linden NJ, in January of 1983, where she was promply shuttled off to the ASC conversion facility. Total current mileage is 73,920.

The Toronado is a Braughm with PS, Power 4 disc brakes, Power Seats, Power Top, Power Windows, Front Wheel Drive (as all Toronados were), Leather seat surfaces, Auto dim lights, Tilt Wheel and A/C. Power comes from a 307/5.0 Liter 4 bbl GM V8 and Overdrive Trans. Body and frame are rust free/ no rot.

Recent work (within a thousand miles and a few years) is a new top, Transmission pan gasket/filter, fluid change, New ignition and rebuilt carbs, new steering box and ball joints. This car has her original paint, as seen by the .1 mil paint thickness.

For more info and many more pictures of this car please visit my website: http://www.autoarcheologist.com/discoveries.html

Thank you for the interest in this seldom seen convertible.

Description:

This 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. When initially released in 1953 the Corvette was intended to compete with the smaller European sports cars of that era. Harley Earl developed the initial design which was sleek smaller 2 seat sports car that looked amazing and caught everyones attention, but the price would seem to be a major setback. Having that said GM would only sell 3640 units in 1954 making these extremely collectible today. This particular beauty has been treated to a yearlong frame off restoration with pictures and receipts included with the sale. Once completed the car was driven for about 600 miles and put on display at the Corvette museum in Bowling Green KY for enthusiasts to enjoy. The body was taken off and stripped down and then painted back to its original white color which still looks amazing today. With all of the chrome either replaced or brought back to its original luster it easy to see why so many caught the Corvette bug. The frame was treated to the same process which not only insured the structural integrity but gave the underneath a fresh and clean look. The original, numbers matching, blue flame six was cleaned up with the original 2 speed power glide given the same treatment. With the engine and transmission back together, they were placed back onto that freshly painted frame. With the body completed it was dropped back onto the frame giving this 1954 Corvette its new lease on life. The red interior was the last step with the red really popping against that white exterior. The tan convertible top is in excellent shape and shows well but this car was meant to be seen with the top down. Press the button between the seats and place the top in the hidden storage area and the 1954 Corvette has the look of a true roadster. When it is all said and done this Corvette is sure to make the next owner a very happy person. Options on this 1954 Corvette include a Manual Convertible Top, Leather Interior, AM Radio, Hubcaps and, Bias Ply White Wall Tires. This 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

We’re very excited to present this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette in our Milwaukee showroom! This two-owner vehicle underwent a full body-off and complete disassembly restoration to the highest standard. The car easily met NCRS Top Flight/Duntov specifications and was judged accordingly. The original owner was a member of the Titusville Corvette Club and a friend of the Eckler brothers (Ecklers Corvette of Titusville). He was offered the paint job for free in return for letting Eckler use this car as the “mold car” for all of the mid-year body pieces in the mid-seventies. This car is complete, authentic and numbers matching down to the FI unit # tag, chassis and engine. The hardtop comes with the car but has not been restored. This beauty has been driven approximately 600 miles since restoration, kept in climate controlled garage, and has won every show it has been entered in. This 1963 Corvette is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this cool 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. Many will say the Bug is responsible for what we know as the interstate highway system that we have today. In the early 30’s a crazy man in Germany wanted to make a “high-speed” system of roads to move people and product through his country. Little did we know at the time this man would become to known as the Furor and the real reason for these roads was to move troops quickly. I think we know how that worked out for him, not very well. Unlike Adolf the Bug would live on for many decades to come and much like him have a colt following that lives on today. This 1968 Beetle, Bug, or people mover is a notable example of why people fell in love with these little, almost indestructible cars. Sporting its flashy red paint and accented with those classic chrome bumpers it gets as many looks as cars twice its price. The roof rack with its stained wood gives it an original classic look. The matching deck lid rack only adds to the appeal. Under that deck lid a brand new, not rebuilt, 1600CC engine is tucked away making this a great candidate for your teen’s first car. Open the doors and you will notice the classic interior is in very good condition. Yet still the part that gets me is this car is a radio delete car. If you go underneath the car you will notice that the floorboards are spotless. Unlike many VW’s that have anything from house siding to stop signs these floorboards are original to the car. The original owner’s manual and toolkit are in the trunk something else you rarely see with one of these beauties. If you have been thinking about getting a great classic car that will always be in style or classic that is a blast to drive but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to do so this little piece of history will be a perfect fit. Options on this 1968 Volkswagen Beetle include; Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, Hubcaps, and Radial Tires. This 1968 Volkswagen Bug is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. When Ford entered the lower-priced field of luxury cars in 1965 with the then-new LTD, they already had several price levels of luxury from the Lincoln Continental to the Mercury Park Lane. Car buyers responded favorably by buying 68,038 cars in the introductory year, and another 69,400 in its sophomore year, of which this Wimbledon White Model 57F is one of. With a contrasting interior of cloth and vinyl in burgundy, this was truly a great road car, and its exterior color of white shows the purity of the car as well as the time it was made. Equipped with the 390 CID engine and the new C-6 three speed automatic transmission, this cruiser is also fully loaded with many desirable options. It has a history that can be traced back to the original owner in Colorado. Its been repainted but remains mostly original. The four-door hardtop body style is something well never see Detroit do again; they really are elegant when all of the windows are down. A stylish, yet practical car ready to take you to wherever you want to go in high class fashion. Driving this car makes your day. You will forget to pick things up from the store on purpose just so you can go back as an excuse to drive this car. You will wake up early for work just to take a longer route to spend more time in this sweet ride. Our 1966 Ford LTD for sale includes: Seat belts, AC, cloth interior, power steering, radial tires, numbers matching. This car drives so well I might just buy it myself. Once you sit inside this beautiful machine you will want it in your home! Let’s put this car in your home. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to present this 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza up for sale. In the dawning age of the high-horsepower muscle car era, the 1966 Chevrolet Corvair stood as an alternative to import cars like the Volkswagen Beetle with its rear-engine, rear-drive configuration. In 1966, the Chevrolet Corvair was offered with numerous body styles, and this particular Corvair is the four-passenger, two-door Monza Sport Coupe model. It pairs the 140-horsepower flat-six engine with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, which uses a dash-mounted gear selector to open up even more space for the compact cars interior. According to the trim tag, the 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza you see here was originally painted Lemonwood Yellow, but it has since been repainted in the pastel green, which is one of the more popular colors youll find this car in. This Corvair was also built with factory air conditioning (which is currently not hooked up) and the Convenience Group that includes an inside mirror, remote-control outside mirror, door edge guards, under hood light, luggage compartment light and a glove box light. Options on this 1966 Chevrolet Corvair include AM/FM radio, seat belts, vinyl interior and radial tires. Description:

The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1979 Lincoln Continental for sale. This 400 cubic inch V8 3 speed automatic Continental is good running and makes for this Blue on Blue Lincoln a great cruiser. This Lincoln had the front brakes replaced, rebuilt carburetor, new spark plugs, A/C repair, master cylinder replaced, brake system flushed, and an engine tune-up. After 5 years on the market, Lincoln made an extensive revision to the Continental. Coinciding with the 1975 introduction of the Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln and Mercury sought to better visually differentiate their two flagship model lines, in spite of their mechanical commonality. As part of the revision, the Lincoln Continental was able to adopt a greater degree of styling commonality with the Continental Mark IV. For 1975, the exterior of the Lincoln Continental underwent a major revision. Although the body below the beltline saw only minor change, the taillights redesigned in the style of the Mark IV, the roofline was completely restyled. To separate itself from the Mark IV, the two-door Continental/Town Coupe adopted a fully pillared roofline with a square opera window in the C-pillar. In place of the pillared hardtop shared with the Mercury Marquis and Ford LTD, the four-door Continental/Town Car adopted a wide B-pillar; to distinguish itself from the Cadillac Sixty Special Brougham; Town Cars were given the oval opera window introduced on the Mark IV. For 1978, the dashboard was updated for the first time, as the Lincoln Continental adopted a revised version of the Mercury Grand Marquis dashboard. In addition to increasing parts commonality, the update was done to save weight; the plastic-frame Mercury dashboard was lighter than the previous steel-frame version. In a similar move, Lincoln redesigned the rear fender skirts, adopting a version that covered less of the rear wheels. For 1979, the interior underwent further updating, as the Mercury-sourced dashboard received additional wood trim. The 460 V8 was deleted from the Lincoln/ Mark V model line entirely, leaving the 400 V8 as the sole engine. Options include: AC, AM/FM radio, cassette, cruise control, power steering, power locks, power seats, power windows, tilt wheel, power mirrors, seat belts, leather interior, rally wheels, radial tires. The new hatchback body style was an instant success with the aerodynamics helping with the MPG’s. The car would even win the coveted Car of the Year award from Car and Driver magazine. This example is a very clean well-maintained car with under 45000 actual miles. Under the hood is extremely clean with the 305-engine running like a top. Mated up to the original TH350 transmission this Camaro runs out just fine. Open the door and you are treated to a very clean interior with the pattern reminding me of the classic houndstooth of the originals. With the hatch opening up there is plenty room for storage convenient for that next road trip. With the wheels being in amazing shape the car truly looks great inside and out.
