Description:

For sale in our Nashville showroom is a one of a kind 1940 Studebaker Commander. This 1940 Studebaker Commander for sale is an incredible find with less than 1500 miles on this car, that’s right less than fifteen hundred, this car is like a time capsule and has spent a year in the Studebaker museum. This 164.3CID I6 had all the ground pounding power for the day packing a punch with 80 full horses under the hood. The smooth clean lines of this car show Studebaker’s forward thinking and just seeing one for the first time on the showroom you would instantly know it was bound to become a classic. Open the door to this 1940 Studebaker for sale and air from 1940 rushes out. Inside this car you will find liberal use of bakelite (or polyoxybenzylmethenglycolanhydride ) this was an early form of plastic and expensive for the day and reserved for the finer things in life. The gauges have clean faces and are easy to read, none are faded and full of dust like a lot of classic cars that have not been restored. This 1940 Commander for sale is not perfect but it sure looks great for being 77 years old and once again, only 1413 actual miles. I have put more miles than that on a car in a week. Let’s see, 77 years old and only 1413 miles so that is how many miles per year, divide by 3.14, carry the 1, that’s 18.35 miles a year! The owner of this car, (only the third) states that all the body panels are original. The inline flat head six cylinder starts and runs like new and purrs like a tiger. Riding on wide white wall Bias ply tires this 1940 Commander looks like it just took a ride on H.G. Wells Time machine. So, if you are looking for a classic car that looks like a million, runs great and you are only planning on driving it about 18 miles a year, this is your car. Options for this 1940 Studebaker Commander include: Cloth interior and wide white wall bias ply tires and 1413 miles! A $237.37 document fee will be added to the sales price. All purchases may be subject to any applicable tax, title, & licensing fees. For more information call the Nashville showroom at 615-213-1800 or send us an email nashville@gatewayclassiccars.com

Under the hood of the Chevy Corvette Stingray is the latest performance small-block, a 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 generating 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present a collection of gas dragsters Gassers in our Indianapolis showroom. This one, Slimer, is a 1941 Willys coupe fiberglass body on a custom frame powered by a 355 Chevrolet engine driving through a 400 Turbo transmission. It is a C/Gas dragster with a 9 Ford Posi rear end with a 3.83:1 ratio. It has seat belts, leather racing seats, and Cragar wheels. Since it is a street or strip vehicle, it features an AM/FM CD player. Here is some history for those who would like background on this exciting style of dragster. The term Gasser refers to a style of drag race car that was prolific in the late 1950s through the 1960s that ran on gasoline as fuel, as opposed to race fuel. These cars typically competed in heads up drag races that were classed by engine size and car weight. In the faster classes the cars used a straight axle front suspension that produced the intimidating stance that gassers are known for. Easily recognized by common features like the higher front end stance that was developed as a means of weight transfer to the rear wheels for traction, this style became popular later as builders attempted to achieve a traditional or nostalgic race look. These cars became fan favorites as the well-known racers began to run grudge matches for higher purses. In no time these matches were the top billing at many shows due to the crowd entertainment factor. Gassers were the top drag racing classes in the period that is now referred to as the gasser war years, which ranged from 1955 through 1968.In addition to the straight axle, most gassers also sported Halibrand wheels, no front bumper, and had a front mounted Moon tank. The gasser form was dictated by function and most builders looked to eliminate as much weight as possible. Having their exhaust pipes exit through the front fender to shorten the length of exhaust tubing is another common characteristic of gassers. Builders used 1930s through 1950s production coupes or sedans to create these highly modified racing vehicles. The most common base vehicles were Willys coupes, Austin and Anglia sedans, and the Chevy Tri-Five cars. Late model cars were not allowed in the Gas classes until 1967, and the gas classes were totally eliminated by NHRA in 1972. They run today all over the United States and down under in Australia and New Zealand in vintage and nostalgia drags. To view this gas dragster, please visit our site at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call 317-688-1100, or email us at indy@gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Gateway classic cars of Nashville is proud to offer for sale this 1952 Chevrolet 3100 series pickup. Ok, I have seen many Chevrolet 3100 pickups but this one causes the jaw to drop. Fresh from a restoration where the body brackets and frame were powder coated for great looks and to keep them rust free for years. The body of this classic truck is a bright woodland green with black fenders and running boards. Classic. The interior is sparce as it was back in 1952 with saddle colored vinyl covers the seat and contrasts well against the dark green and black paint scheme. The Drive train which includes a 235 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder and 3 manual transmission with column shifter, aka 3 on the tree. This truck originally was wired with 6 Volt but has been converted to 12 Volt and the starter and alternator have been rebuilt and a new wiring harness installed along with new gauges. The blower motor and heater coil replaced, this truck is ready for the job site. Let’s face it, in 1952 this was a luxury truck, in today’s world if you don’t have a heated steering wheel and champagne chiller in the center console then you need to upgrade. In 1952, an electric starter, Heat and outside mirrors were the big options. Men had crew cuts and women wore their hair in buns. Things were much simpler but with this said, I would add a radio to this truck so that I could listen to Frank while styling down the road. Options for this 1952 Chevrolet include: Hub caps, Seat belts, Vinyl interior and radial tires with wide white walls. This 1952 Chevrolet 3100 pick up truck can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD photos at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
