Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present a selection of gas dragsters Gassers in our Indianapolis showroom. This model, Shazam, is a 1933 Willys replica B/Gas dragster powered by a 355 Chevrolet driving through a 350 Chevrolet automatic transmission to a 12 bolt rear end with a 3.83:1 ratio. The body is all fiberglass on a custom frame with a roll cage. Paint is PPG orange metalflake with a yellow and green stripe, the interior is in green sparkle vinyl. Here is some history for those who would like background on this exciting style of dragster. The term Gasser refers to a style of drag race car that was prolific in the late 1950s through the 1960s that ran on gasoline as fuel, as opposed to race fuel. These cars typically competed in heads up drag races that were classed by engine size and car weight. In the faster classes the cars used a straight axle front suspension that produced the intimidating stance that gassers are known for. Easily recognized by common features like the higher front end stance that was developed as a means of weight transfer to the rear wheels for traction, this style became popular later as builders attempted to achieve a traditional or nostalgic race look. These cars became fan favorites as the well-known racers began to run grudge matches for higher purses. In no time these matches were the top billing at many shows due to the crowd entertainment factor. Gassers were the top drag racing classes in the period that is now referred to as the gasser war years, which ranged from 1955 through 1968.In addition to the straight axle, most gassers also sported Halibrand wheels, no front bumper, and had a front mounted Moon tank. The gasser form was dictated by function and most builders looked to eliminate as much weight as possible. Having their exhaust pipes exit through the front fender to shorten the length of exhaust tubing is another common characteristic of gassers. Builders used 1930s through 1950s production coupes or sedans to create these highly modified racing vehicles. The most common base vehicles were Willys coupes, Austin and Anglia sedans, and the Chevy Tri-Five cars. Late model cars were not allowed in the Gas classes until 1967, and the gas classes were totally eliminated by NHRA in 1972. They run today all over the United States and down under in Australia and New Zealand in vintage and nostalgia drags. To view this gas dragster, please visit our site at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call 317-688-1100, or email us at indy@gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Now available in our DFW Showrooms is this custom built 1932 Ford Sedan. Today, the 1932 Model B, although always a little bit in the shadow of the V8, is a highly collectible car and people will pay high dollars to restore one to original specification, which is ironic, as they were once cheap throwaway cars popular with hot rodders who would tear them apart and use them as the basis for a build. This is partly why it is so hard to find an unaltered specimen today. Our 1932 is no exception as it has been rebuilt from the ground up! When starting with a custom-rod, where else do you begin then heart of the vehicle. This 1932 is powered around by a straight out the GM crate- Mr.Goodwrench 350-V8 motor, with aluminum heads, edelbrock carb 650 CFM, and a MSD Ignition. Which creates plenty of ponies to the back wheels. Speaking of wheels, this ride is rolling on a fabulous combo set of US-Mags wheels and Mickey Thompson tires. These all connect to Rust’No’More chassis and a fiberglass body sitting on top. Other additional upgrades to this vehicle include: Aluminum rod 3 core speedway, Pete & Jake frontend, SoCal gas tank, Disc brakes, and Muffler headers. To view this vehicle in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and videos, visit our website at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to offer for sale on consignment this amazing 1930 Ford Model A Truck offered by our Arizona showroom! At first glance the brain receptors start firing off a whole range of emotions as your eyes wander through the endless custom touches performed on this street rod. This fiberglass body has been shaved, chopped, channeled, and even extended 5 inches for additional leg room and finished in a gorgeous gray paint job. Slide into the black leather heated seats and take in how much room there is for you and a passenger, seriously, you’d be amazed. Scan your eyes across the dash and admire the full array of GlowShift Gauges including a tachometer, speedometer, fuel, oil pressure, water temp and voltage. Roll up the power windows and turn on the Vintage Air Conditioning on those hot summer days and your passenger can even set their cold drink in the cup holder on the dash. This thing could offer the comfort and size of an SUV! Shaved door handles can sometimes be a pain when dealing with a loss of power but this truck has you covered. There is a remote door popper on the key fob, there are buttons to pop the doors open from the inside and if there is a battery issue there are manual door poppers both under the driver’s seat and under the cab on the outside. This sits on a double Z’d frame that measures a 116 inch wheel base for a proportionate appearance. Peak into the bed of this truck and admire not only the fabrication of the wild rear fenders but also the GE brand, abrasion resistant plexiglass panels that show off the Kugel chromed and polished independent rear suspension, Ford 9 inch rear end, 3.73 rear differential and inboard braking system. Things that may seem out of proportion could be the large 20” Old School wheels in the rear but as you scan towards the front to see the 18” wheels up front with the massive Wildwood brake calipers and slotted rotors, you begin to see the theme of this truck and it just screams the word “menacing”. Continuing the “menacing” theme you can’t look past the JEGS LS327 engine with an estimated 350 horsepower and 340 foot pounds of torque. The engine is dressed up with GM aluminum heads and intake, a 660 CFM Summit Racing carburetor provides the fuel while a MSD ignition supplies the spark. Creating a symphony of sound you have a set of Jayster Lake style ceramic coated headers which mate to a 2.5 inch exhaust that finishes through Magnaflow mufflers. As you stand to admire the jewelry box that is the engine it’s hard not to take notice of the chromed independent front suspension with the Alldan Eagle coilovers and those 6 piston Wilwood brakes that are matched up to a Kugel under dash power brake unit and pedal assembly. Helping you row through the 5 forwards gears is a Tremec TKO 600 manual transmission matched to a Hurst shifter and heavy duty clutch. Keeping things cool comes by way of an aluminum radiator that sits in a custom radiator shell and dressed with an Alumacraft grille. Ride in comfort knowing the entire cab has been covered in Dynamat to quiet down the road noise, hit the open road with the confidence of making it to your destination thanks to a 13 gallon aluminum gas tank from Coyote Gear while a Holley fuel pump with inertia shut off switch, rollover valve and PTFE fuel lines help to aid in feeding that hungry beast up front. Every inch of this truck has been touched with a high attention to detail and functionality. This is a great driver and it commands just as much attention sitting still.

Description:

This is a phenomenal 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Series ½ Ton Pickup. This resto-mod is one from the age of Elvis Presley, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and it was on the receiving end of an incredibly high-quality frame-off restoration. The entire body is brand new except for the cab, which was restored, and the wood bed was also completely replaced and updated. The vehicle was painted in its beautiful orange color only a year ago, but looks brand new and the door locks have been shaved, giving the entire vehicle an elegant, streamlined appearance. There was no expense spared on the body work and after taking just one look, it’s more than obvious. The 355 CID V8 engine fires up at the first turn of the key and the TH350 automatic transmission shifts through gears with ease, transferring the power from the engine to the new Ford 9” rear end with 3.55 gears. To give the truck a mean stance, the ride height was adjusted with front coilovers. The vehicle was also updated to have power steering, air conditioning that blows ice cold, power locks and windows, keyless entry, and a tilt wheel. Driving this 60 year old truck feels like a breeze and will be perfect for any car show or cruise night. This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Series ½ Ton Pickup is located in our Milwaukee Showroom. If you would like to see more pictures of the vehicle please visit GatewayClassicCars.com, where there are more than 100 HD pictures of the vehicle and an HD video of it running and driving. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale proudly presents the world renowned off road legend, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. These trucks are legendary in off-roading groups for being reliable and extremely agile due to their short wheel base. Given their track record in some of the world’s most inhospitable environments, its easy to see why these are growing tremendously in collector popularity. However, because of their rugged reputation many of these trucks have been bashed, abused, and just plain used up in the years before they were on the collectors A-list. Fortunately, this one is a sight to behold with an eye catching yellow paint job and tan soft roof that looks bound for the wilderness. Youll find the interior is far more civilized than youd expect for a world traveler like this, with comfortable vinyl front seats. Twin folding seats in back expand passenger capacity and with durable non-slip rubber mat on the floor, you can get dirty without worrying about cleaning carpets when you get home. Toyotas 4.2-liter inline-six powered Land Cruisers for decades and provides the torque necessary for off road excitement; its proven itself time and again when conditions were less than nice. Around town, its smooth and torquey and the gear ratios are exactly right to make it feel quick and agile. Backed by a 4 speed manual transmission and sitting on All Terrain tires, this Land Cruiser is sure to please the traveler in all of us! If you’re looking for an eye catching beach cruiser or an impressive FJ for the car show scene, this is the one you want to own! Options include power brakes, power steering, vinyl interior, manual top and radial tires.

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Seville. The head of GM design - Harley Earl, was at his zenith, or excess in 1958. Chrome and voluptuous curves were a signature GM design theme under his tenure and the 1958 model range had both in spades. This chrome laden, jet age, yacht was near the top of the Cadillac model range for 1958. With a list price of $7500 they were not cheap. This price was justified with unique – to Eldorado – rear styling and roof trim as well as a tri power carburetion and numerous standard luxury features. This 58 Eldorado Seville is equipped with factory air conditioner, power steering and brakes, power seats, power windows, and even automatic dimming headlights! The car wears what appears to be the original paint and still has the original red and white leader interior. The odometer shows 62 thousand miles, but that’s unconfirmed. All accessories work except for the factory AC and power trunk actuator. This big Caddy runs and drives well with the 365 V8 and 4 speed trans pulling with authority and shifting like butter. The power steering is finger-tip light and the car tracks true down the road. A true 50s era chariot of American Luxury and excess.
