-Extra Body Panels

In the early 2000's Cadillac was looking to reinvent itself with edgy styling and they were looking to attract the younger generation over from BMW, Mercedes and Lexus. The V-Series was born. General Motors had just launched the “Corvette Racing Program” in 1999 and it was decided that they would enter the prototype program with the Cadillac. This was Cadillacs first factory efforts since it hired Briggs Cunningham to build its Series 61 and the “LeMonstra”. Cadillac enlisted the help of Riley & Scott to spear head the program. They developed a new car based loosely on the much successful Mk III C chassis. General Motors had much experience and success with its Indy Racing engine program and they used this engine as a twin-turbo version.

A total of seven chassis were built, two went to the U.S. team, three to the French DAMS team, one a show car and one a test car.

After the 2000 season, Cadillac enlisted the help of Mazda's Le Mans winner, Nigel Stroud. Nigel revised the aero of the car. The cars received a shorter and flatter body work, which is what you see the car as today. This particular car finished just off the podium behind the Audi R8's on 3 of 4 occasions in the 2001 season as high as 4th.

This car was run by Riley & Scott, except during the 2001 LeMans 24, it was run by DAMS. It was driven by the likes of Wayne Taylor, Max “The Ax” Angelelli, Butch Litzinger, Christophe Tinseau, Emmanuel Collard and Marc Goossens.

This particular chassis was raced at:
• Daytona-2000
• Sebring-2000
• LeMans Test-2000
• LeMans 24-2000
• ALMS Portland-2000
• ALMS Petit LeMans-2000
• LeMans Test-2001
• LeMans 24-2001
• ALMS Mostport-2001
• ALMS Petit LeMans-2001

This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of General Motors and Cadillac Racing History. This car was on display at the LeMans Museum in France.

This car was recently gone through with its mechanicals. A fresh paint job paint and factory graphics, new Menard 4.0 engine (exact same engine as the original, less turbos (zero miles), all new wiring, conversion to Motec ECU, new belts. The car has not been run as yet except on the dyno. Ryan Falconer Race Engines dyno'd and mapped the new Motec ECU. The Gearbox is an Xtrac sequential 6 speed. You can add paddle shifters to this gearbox if you preferred.

The original Northstar Twin Turbo Engine comes with the car with all of the piping, lines and fittings. Many other spare parts accompany this car: control arms, up rights, two spare gearbox cases, fuel cell, gears, axles, radiators, wheels, complete nose, all original wiring that was removed.

This car can be enjoyed in a collection or on the track as it is an automatic entry to any concours event from Amelia Island, The Quail Motorsports Gathering to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is an automatic entry to any historic racing in the U.S. or Europe with its international race history.

Factory L88 with rare Factory Side Pipes. Color Change, Should be Burgundy, currently Black.

1969 Factory L88 Corvette

This is a documented Factory L88. This is a known L88 that was in California for most of its life and was discovered about 8 years ago. This car is documented by the Original Protect-O-Plate. This L88 is a rare Factory Side Pipe car!

The car is currently painted Black, but the original color is Burgundy. The chassis was done one time before by the previous owner, but it is a great candidate for a restoration. The body is a solid body with no visible damage. The car has been inspected by one of the L88 experts whom is also a 400+ level NCRS Master Judge. The interior of the car is great and would not have to be touched. The chassis was done a long time ago, but would need to be redone if you were to show the car through NCRS or Bloomington. The car when it was completed by its previous owner was put back to be more streetable, so it does drive fairly well. Overall a great car and a great investment opportunity, especially if you can do the work yourself.

This is still on its Original MSO.

This car features:

The main goal was to be the ultimate street and track car.

This car means business and is a rocket ship on wheels. HRE is one of the foremost continuation series Shelby Cobra builders and didn't spare any expenses in building this car.

2006 EX-Corvette Z06

The Corvette Z06 arrived as a 2006 model in the third quarter of 2005. The newest Z06 followed its predecessors from 1963 and 2001-2004 as the most track focused model, offered from Corvette. The Z06 was equipped with the largest-displacement small block ever produced by GM, a new 7.0L engine code-named LS7. The LS7 produced 505 HP and was the most powerful naturally aspirated engine put into a production car from General Motors at the time. In addition to the larger displacement engine, the Corvette Z06 has a dry sump oiling system, and connecting rods made out of titanium alloy. The Z06's body features larger front and rear fenders and an intake inlet scoop on the front bumper. The front fenders are constructed with carbon fiber and the rear fenders contain ducts to aid in cooling the rear brakes.

This Z06 carries experimental serial number 1G1YY22Y3650016EX - the first Z06 ever built at the Bowling Green, KY assembly plant on February 4, 2005.

In March of 2005, it was instrumented and retrofitted with safety equipment at the Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan. In June 2005, it topped 200 MPH on the Autobahn with Tony Rifici behind the wheel. The same month, this Corvette underwent Nurburgring testing and development, recording a lap time of 7:42.99 from a standing start with driver Jan Magnussen. Jan would memorialize this time by signing the center consoled with the time.

During the Nurburgring testing, many photos of the car appeared in automotive magazines, Car and Driver suggested it was the “CORVETTE FROM HELL” (in the best for ways). This car was photographed and appeared “airborne” on the “Ring”. In July 2005, Jan Magnussen gave rides to the press during a long-lead press show. The Z06 underwent more testing at the Virginia International Raceway and Spring Mountain in late 2006, this time with Johnny O'Connell behind the wheel and a focus on thermal and brake cooling development.

After years of testing to develop the Z06, this Z06 was then used by Corvette Chief Engineer Tom Wallace for track events in 2006 – 2008. As the years passed, this EX-Z06 was used again for development of the ZR-1 front fascia and radiator. Development of these components utilized hours of wind-tunnel testing and high speed runs at the Milford Proving Ground straightway to finalize production components. In early 2008, this Z06 had a complete driveline refresh by GM.

This Z06 was formerly part of the GM Heritage collection, based outside of Detroit. The private GM owned collection houses some of the most iconic styling and developmental cars built by GM. “Each of the vehicles in the Collection illustrates a design, technical or sales milestone or accomplishment in the history of General Motors or automotive history.” – GM Heritage website. Upon retirement from service in GM this Z06 joined that fabled collection for a few years. When GM went through their financial troubles during the great recession, they were forced to liquidate a large portion of their collection. Shortly thereafter, the Z06 joined a private collection in the Midwest for over a decade. It has been displayed publicly on numerous occasions and even enjoyed a track day or two. This Z06 is a great option for a track car with Corvette Racing history or in a private collection as an investment!

Included with this experimental Z06 Corvette is over 200+ photos of the build and delivery process. Additional documents from the purchase of this vehicle at the time of previous sale are included.

Mid America Motorworks' involvement with professional Corvette racing began in 1987 with the SCCA Escort Endurance Championship. The Championship had about a dozen teams, fielding over 25 cars in the SS class. Sometimes this seven-race endurance series would have up to 20 Corvettes entering each race event. Mid America partnered with Bakeracing in this Corvette and its sister, the #4. Between Corvette #5 and its running mate #4, six of the seven victories were won by Bakeracing and his Yellow Corvettes. This Corvette was raced in what was considered “showroom stock” form with some modifications for safety. Kim Baker, a master strategist, as well as driver and car builder, installed a variety of 350 TPI engines, each purpose-built with the length of each endurance event in mind—5, 12 or 24 hours. This Corvette is one of two built by Kim Baker and Bakeracing for the Escort Series. It ran at the Sears Point, Portland, Brainerd, Mosport, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio and Sebring tracks in 1987. After helping the Mid America-Bakeracing Team capture the National Title in 1987 bringing home six of seven Escort Endurance Series victories, the car was sold and disappeared for nine years. Then in 1996, while attending a Mid America Motorworks Corvette Touring Challenge race, Mike Yager rediscovered and purchased the #5 from a series driver. He then sent it to Kim Baker for a comprehensive restoration to 1987 racing specifications. You now see it as it drove to victory in the 24 Hour Race at Mosport Track in Canada in 1987. The number 5 Corvette was driven by Mitch Wright and Shawn Hendricks. Corvette wins at the 1985, 1986 and 1987 Escort Endurance Championships led to the creation of The Corvette Challenge, a race where the Corvette was classed in a series by itself. It also enjoyed a successful SCCA Club Racing history after the Escort Series.

This car is perfect for any track event or historic event. It is very easy to run and a reliable easy car to drive. Own a piece of Corvette race history.

Description:

AEX 198 was built in August of 1956 at AC cars in Slough England & then imported into the U.S by Ac Imports in Arlington Virginia.

In the early sixties it appears that someone set up AEX 198 to race FIA spec, similar to Carrol Shelby's AC Cobras that were being converted at the time. This AC Ace has a Dated '63 hi-po 289 271 horsepower Engine along with a '63 super T10 four speed Transmission and a Jaguar rear end with independent suspension and inboard disc brakes. The front end is a 1963 MGB knee action independent suspension with disc brakes. The original nose was replaced with a Rudd Speed nose & wider flares were installed to cover the larger wheel & tire combination which was needed to run FIA.

Ken Rudd Race Car driver and team owner designed these Bodies for his race cars in order to increase aerodynamics. In 2017 HRE Motorcars had completed a No Expense Spared Frame Off Restoration with serious attention to every last detail at a cost of over $150k. We have no documentation to prove this specific car was in fact a car that raced FIA in the 60's but everything leads us to believe that it was. All the items have been on this vehicle for the last 50 yrs and was most likely used by a race team or a privateer back then.

Description:

Riley & Scott is synonymous with racing; Bill Riley and Mark Scott began building race cars for the Trans Am series back in 1990 and really came onto the scene in the IMSA GT series in 1995. Their new “Prototype”, the MK III went on to became one of the most successful race cars in endurance racing history earning itself 47 victories and championship titles throughout the USRRC/Rolex Sports/ALMS series.

In 2001 as the LMP class was becoming more competitive with new manufacturer backed teams and with R&S being hired by General Motors for the Cadillac LMP Program, they needed to improve the reliable Mk III C, so the Mk III C was born. They redesigned the car and incorporated some changes from the Cadillac. The chassis was a hybrid of steel and carbon with a full carbon body. At the front, a radiator was fed air from a vent above the front splitter, which then exited over the top of the bodywork just in front of the cockpit. The sidepods were on the whole lower, but of a similarly flat design with exchangeable sections for to improve cooling and aerodynamics when required. The engine bay could accept multiple naturally aspirated engine types (to allow teams much flexibility with different powerplants), any of which could be mated to a new X-Trac 6-speed gearbox, which was a massive mprovement over the previous 5-speed gearbox. This gearbox was further enhanced by the option to fit a Megaline pneumatically actuated gear-change system, which was activated by paddles on the steering wheel, rather than by a traditional gear stick. The most notable visual difference with the “Mk III C” were its more rounded nose plus the cockpit area, as it featured a single rollhoop as seen on the Cadillac LMP, though an optional roll hoop extension was offered as was required by Rolex Sports Car Series regulations. The front of the cockpit was also redesigned, with an aerodynamic windshield being added in front of the driver in place of a fullwidth design.

5 Mk III C's were constructed. 1 of them becoming the FIA crash test car. 3 of the Mk III C's were built for U.S. based ProAm Jim Matthews. Matthews decided to put on a full assault for the major endurance races. Daytona, Sebring, LeMans and Petit LeMans.

For their attack on the 24 Hours of Daytona the team contracted Guy Smith (who later went on
the win Le Mans with Bentley), Scott Sharp (1996 IRL and 2009 ALMS Champion) and Robby
Gordon (IRL, Champ Car, NASCAR and off-road star) to join Matthews. 004 qualified well in 4th
place, and featured strongly throughout the race, looking like a contender for victory until an
issue lost them some time in the closing laps, and they finished a nonetheless highly impressive 2nd overall. For the 12 Hours of Sebring a month later Smith was retained, with Belgian endurance veteran Marc Goosens joining the lineup. The trio qualified in the top ten and again impressively finished 3rd overall, in front of factory entries from Audi, Cadillac and Panoz.

These two consecutive performances gave the R&S team great confidence ahead of the 24 Hours of LeMans. Guy Smith had been called up for Bentley duties and so reigning 24 Hours of Daytona winner, Didier Theys, was recruited to run alongside Matthews and Goosens. 004 however qualified a disappointing 16th, which didn't reflect the car's potential at all. It is interesting to note however that every car inside the top ten ran on Michelin tires, with just the factory Bentleys on Dunlops, while Ascari ran on Goodyear like the Mk III C. It is believed that Matthews Racing had initially planned to run on Michelin rubber all season, but having decided against certain races, the tire supply was cancelled; it is rumored that when testing on Michelin rubber the Mk III C had lapped half a second faster than an Audi R8 with Michelin Tires. At Le Mans after 13 hours the engine failed which resulted in a DNF. To close out its career at Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta in 2002, the car was retired after contact with a tire barrier on the front nose.

This car earned a few podiums during its short racing life, a 2nd Overall at the 2002 Daytona 24hr and a 3rd Overall at the 12hours of Sebring in 2002. (Both ahead of the Audi R8).

The driver list that drove this car is a world class lineup from, Guy Smith, Scott Sharp, Robby Gordon, Marc Goosens, Didier Theys to the ProAm Jim Matthews.

This car was never raced post its Jim Matthews racing career. It was fully refreshed and is ready for the track or your collection. This is 1 or 2 Mk III C's to race at LeMans and this is the only Mk II C to race Daytona/Sebring/LeMans. This car can be enjoyed at Goodwood, Peter Auto, Endurance Classic, Monterey Historics and would be an automatic invite to any concours event as it has international racing history.

This particular chassis was raced at:

Description:

2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition for sale. Motorcar Classics is proud to present this awesome 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition in pristine original condition with only 5,815 miles. This car is #332 of 500 Lexus LFA, and it is one of only 50 of the Nurburgring Edition. Furthermore, it is even more rare and unique by virtue of being the only Nurburgring Edition delivered in Lexus 3P0 Bright Red. As evidenced on the original window sticker this car was originally slated to be built in Obsidian Black, but at the last minute the original purchaser asked for his Nurburgring to be delivered in this stunning color which is noted as an extra cost option on the sticker and further by these photos from the Lexus Facebook page.In early 2000, Lexus proposed to focus their expertise on building a limited run supercar. The stunning LFA Coupe is the product of nine years in development as a project called P280. 500 units were built with a base price of $375,000. The Nurburgring Edition, a highly tuned variant named for the famous German circuit, was introduced in 2012. With only fifty produced and a sticker starting at $445,000, it is one of the most exclusive, expensive and impressive cars to ever come out of Japan. Lexus offered just four exterior colors on the Nurburgring Editions: Matte Black, Gloss Black, White and Orange. But a handful, like this one, were ordered in special colors. The most obvious distinction of the Nurburgring edition is the large fixed carbon fiber reinforced plastic wing. Combined with the exclusive front dive planes and a deeper carbon fiber front spoiler, the Nurburgring trim increases downforce by nearly a third while claiming a drag coefficient of just 0.31. With a 202mph top speed, this is no small consideration. Lexus driver Akira Iida ran a lap of the Nurburgring circuit in just 7.14, the fastest lap recorded by a production car on street tires. At the heart of the LFA is a hand built 72-degree 4.8L V10 producing 562 hp and 354 lb. ft. of torque. The car will run 3.6 seconds in 0-60 and 11.4 seconds in the quarter mile as delivered. Developed exclusively for the LFA, there is no other engine in the Toyota family that resembles the 1LR-GUE. Lexus engineers tuned to the LFA to sound like a F1 car and it screams to a 9,000 RPM redline. Paired with the V10 is a rear-mounted six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox operated with paddle-shifters. To tailor the driving experience, there are four pre-programmed settings: auto, normal, sport and wet. Drivers can also opt to override the system and go fully manual if the opportunity arises. Power is delivered through a Torsen limited slip differential. The car has 20-inch forged aluminum BBS wheels that are currently wrapped in Michelin pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, but the original Bridgestone Potenza tires are included. Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes stop thecar effectively. The front setup is a 15.4 inch rotor with six-piston monoblock calipers while the rear are slightly smaller 14.2 inch rotors with four-piston calipers. The front suspension consists of control arms while a multilink arrangement keeps the back end planted. The primary suspension pieces including the remote-reservoir monotube KYB dampers are aluminum. All of this is housed within a carbon fiber reinforced polymer monocoque with aluminum front and rear subframes.Inside, the lightweight bucket seats are covered in black Alcantara with red seat backs, stitching, carpet and steering wheel grips. There are carbon fiber accents throughout as well. The console mounted Remote Touch controller interface operates an array of features including the stereo, navigation system, back up camera and even personalized vehicle settings. The gauges are elegant thin-film transistor pieces with color changing backgrounds. The paddle shifters are metal pieces located behind each side of the steering wheel while the start button is located on the right side of the wheel. Your inspection is invited!

-1 of 7 Pratt & Miller Built C6RS'

-Built by General Motors Works Corvette Racing Team.
-1 of 1 Katech 8.2 Liter V8 Naturally Aspirated Cars built
-Built specifically for the Corvette Racing photographer
-1 Off BBS Centerlock Wheels
-Hand Made Carbon Fiber Body similar to the C6R GT1 Race Car

In 2007 General Motors & Chevrolet approached Pratt & Miller about building a special street version of one of the most successful GT1 cars, the Corvette C6R. The C6RS was born and was the only factory authorized post factory build of the C6 Corvette.

The C6RS was as close to the C6R GT1 car as one could be for the street. The cars started out life as production C6 ZO6's; but were quickly transformed into a road going C6R. 7 of these cars were constructed in total. They debuted the C6RS at the SEMA show and Jay Leno was the first proud new owner.

These cars were built with unbelievable quality and attention to detail. Pratt & Miller hand-made Carbon Fiber body panels, similar waterfall hood to the race car and louvered fenders, wider rear fenders, custom BBS center-lock wheels similar to the C6R. Custom air ride suspension and a custom leather wrapped roll bar.

The interior of this specific car sports a 1 off custom “Caravaggio” Alcantara and Leather with yellow stitching with electric power carbon fiber bucket seats.

The powertrain on this specific chassis is a one-off 8.2ltr built by Katech and pumping out over 600hp. It is mated to a T-56 six-speed manual.

This car is extremely docile to drive on the street and allows you to cruise on the freeway or carve up the countryside. Don't worry about stopping power as it has custom Brembo Brakes to stop this beast.

This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of General Motors and Corvette Racing History at a mere fraction of the price of a GT1 car and you can drive it on the street.

Among the many of cars that hold legendary status among imports, the Civic has become that of an icon. The Si on the Civic stands for “sport injected which means these cars come with features that make them handle and perform a step above the run of the mill models. Lamborghini style doors has also been added to this little machine to really help set it apart from the crowd. Under the hood of this JDM legend is a K20A 2.0-liter 4 cylinder engine offering up a peppy 160 horsepower through a 5-speed a manual transmission. The engine and transmission on this car is bone stock which speaks well to how it was driven and the ceiling potential of how much this reputable engine can be upgraded. To say that this car is fun from the get-go with plenty of potential to be a hustler on the streets is truly an understatement.
