Description:

Gateway Classic Cars Dallas is pleased to offer once stunning 1961 Chevrolet Corvette. This Frame-Off Restoration has been completed in Honduras Maroon/Black Interior. Currently, a Show car that can be driven near anywhere, she was a Blue Plate California Car and has 140K Original Miles on the chassis, about 20,000 on the restoration. The previous owner bought this car in 1965 from the original owner, a school teacher woman in his hometown. At the time the second owner was living in New Jersey and had a one-car garage where this Corvette spent the majority of its life as a weekend type of car. He had other cars as drivers but did drive the car. In 1975 he moved to Newport Beach, CA. Thus the Blue CA plates. The car has primarily been in the Huntington Beach area over the last 43 years. The 1961 Corvette featured here is a really nice specimen of a very original car. In 1992 the Previous owner decided to do a body-off restoration at around 120K miles. He took the car out to Jay Jorgensen, at Classic Corvette, Inc in Riverside, CA. (later known as California Street Design). The car body was removed from the frame and completely stripped. The solid original rust-free frame (see photos of restoration near the end of the pictures) was sandblasted to remove old paint and surface rust and was then powder coated. The cars paint was completely reconditioned along with all the chrome plating on the car. Most of the emblems were replaced with NOS emblems. During the build, the following items were attended to Complete removal of body, stripped, reworked and repainted, Frame Powder Coated, Wheels Stripped and Repainted, Complete New Exhaust System, Complete New Front End, New Shocks Front/Rear, Complete New Wiring Harness, New Drive Shaft, Complete Rechrome, New Windshield, New Weather Strip and Felt, New Shocks Front and Rear, New Brakes, New Carpet / Sun Visors / New Trunk Mat, Brand New Top / Top Kit, New Light Bulbs, Full Tune-Up of Engine. The engine is a Corvette 327/350 that replaced the original 283 dual-carb setup at 80K miles. That would put the mileage on the 327 at 60K miles. He changed the oil once a year religiously since he has owned the car.m In 2006 the Carburetor was completely rebuilt at 131K miles and a new battery was put in the car about a few years ago. All receipts and many pictures of the frame-off restoration come with the car. Body and Paint Lets make one thing perfectly clear, the number one thing to look for in any collector piece is the finest body possible. Factory original bodies on Corvettes are nearly impossible to find these days. This is an extremely straight bodied car, one of the finest I have seen. Take a look at the gaps all the way around the car and the bead around the rear end. Any bodywork was addressed during the restoration process and the work done was top notch. When the car was repainted it was stripped to the glass, primed, blocked judicially and painted. The paintwork on this car is extremely high-caliber and was done by a discriminating shop that knew what they were doing. There is easily $15K-worth of high-end paintwork on this automobile. There is no overspray anywhere to be found. The paint is flat and mirror-like and quite frankly is as good as it gets, with the exception of the small bubbling. All rubber and window felt appear to be like new and was replaced at the time of restoration. The front windshield was replaced during the restoration and the two side windows are original to the car. The chrome on the car is a solid overall 8.5 out of 10, with very minimal scratches anywhere to be found. The chrome bumpers have been redone, with a very small amount of pitting on some pieces. The trim and emblems are all newer from the restoration, however, they are in great shape. Instead of cheap replicas, they look to be NOS to me and representative of a life spent in a garage and carefully handled. We dont believe this engine has ever been apart and runs out as nicely as I have ever seen on a 327-350hp Vette engine. It idles smooth and does not smoke. It is a very strong running engine and almost feels like it is brand new. The Exhaust System is all brand new. The front-end was completely rebuilt and drives down the road straight as an arrow with no shakes, shimmies or rattles of any kind. At that time the lower ball joints were replaced, as well as tie-rod ends, installed new front and rear shocks. The brakes were completely rebuilt during the restoration. It stops with authority. The Hurst Three-Speed Manual shifts smoothly and the owner states it was in the car when he bought it. The Undercarriage is completely rust-free and in very tidy condition. It was stripped and powder coated front and rear during the restoration. Interior The Interior is a solid 8 out of 10 condition. The carpets were replaced during the restoration. The door panels look original to me and in a very nice driver condition. The dash was replaced during the resto. The convertible top was replaced during the restoration and has basically been down in the hole every since. The interior door sills are original to the car but add to the overall nice look of this rare vehicle. A Rare Original style Honduras Maroon Corvette in exceptionally nice above-average driver condition. This is a great way to own a wonderful old Corvette. Everything on this little gem is exceptional. It runs and drives extremely well and has a very tight feel to it. You would be very proud to present this Corvette at any local car shows or events. This is a car that would be a great show car or just a gorgeous and unique driver for cross-country driving or rallies. It can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/dfw/1233/ For additional information please call our sales staff at 817-310-9400 or email us at dallas@GatewayClassicCars.com. Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting a 1970 Shelby GT 350 for sale. This is a mostly original numbers matching non restored car. This Shelby is equipped with a 351 CI V8 and an automatic transmission. This car is well optioned with air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. This Shelby features a Red exterior finish with Gold side striping and a Black Deluxe Shelby leather interior with Black carpeting. Original 15x7-inch Shelby Mag wheels, as well as a factory original front chin spoiler and a pair of hood stripes exclusive to the 1970 model year complete the Shelby styling. In 1970, fresh off five years of success, Ford and Shelby combined to produce their most potent GT 350 Mustang edition to date. The 1970 Shelby GT350 Fastback would be the last of its kind, new and more strict U.S. pollution controls would force Ford to end production of its legendary race car for the road or face serious fines. Only 789 examples of the GT350 were produced for the 1970 model year. Almost all of the 1970 Shelbys were basically leftover from the 1969 model year, and were, under the strict supervision of the FBI, issued new VIN numbers. That last-of-its-kind detail has always made the 1970 a more desirable piece among Shelby enthusiast and collectors. Description:

For sale in our Dallas showroom is a convertible numbers matching 1967 Corvette 327 - 350 HP V8 original motor with 4-speed transmission, This description really doesnt need much more! 1967 was the last year of the C2 Corvettes, a vehicle generation that inspired millions in design and performance thanks to its sleek aero lines, sporty interior and raw speed. This model year saw some minor changes including smaller front fender vents, and a single backup light above the license plate area. Coated in Sunfire Yellow, paired with black leather seats, this Corvette is sure to turn heads. The car was lovingly restored, and appears as new. This classic vette offers a M-20 4-spd manual transmission, also numbers matching. The rear-end is a posi-traction 3.55:1 gear. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Ft Lauderdale is pleased to offer this beautiful 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator for sale in our Ft. Lauderdale showroom. Mercury introduced the Cougar in 1967 as the Pony Car wars were in full swing. Mercury was reluctant to bulk up the Cougar and take on the muscle market, a place where rivals like the SS396 Camaro and Ram Air 400 Firebird had already begun staking territory. By 1969, the Mustang was knuckling against these two with its 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1, and Mercury could no longer sit on the sidelines. By mid-year, the division had jumped into the fray with the Eliminator. The name was taken from a Cougar show car and from the 1968 Cougar Eliminator funny car driven by “Dyno Don Nicholson. Management fathomed that racing exposure could heighten Mercurys profile with young performance buyers. Decked in bright colors, blacked out grilles, body stripes, spoilers and decals, the Eliminator was based on the standard Cougar and came with a choice of engines from mild to wild. This awesome bright baby blue 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator is powered by a 351 Cleveland V8 mated to a 3 speed automatic transmission. With a wonderful white, this is one fantastic looking machine! Options on this 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator include Am/FM Radio, Spare Tire, Tilt Wheel, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, and Competition suspension. Be sure to visit our webpage at www.gatewayclassiccars.com to view 100+ HD pictures, as well as a short video of car in action. Better yet, stop by our Ft. Lauderdale showroom and see her in person. Description:

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is now for sale in the Milwaukee Showroom here at Gateway Classic Cars. While the Mustang was looked at as the most popular model sports car among Fords lineup, there were many iterations of it that set some of the sub models apart as being truly special in terms of performance and value. The Mach 1 while being its own sub model Mustang, offered a few engine options of its own as well as transmissions to combine. This Mustang features a 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 as evident that the engine was manufactured in the Windsor Ontario Ford plant. The V8 is bolted to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Going around this beauty it will become more than evident to any onlookers that there are next to no examples of a Mustang at this age is this great of shape. The dark red paint, which is tastefully matched a dark red color in the interior, constantly shows that this car is ready for a show at almost any time and is about as close to “trailer queen condition as you can get a car. The factory blue paint on the engine block still shows having a glossy finish showing that this car was meticulously looked after. Basically, if you were to build a model of a car, and blow it up to being life size, you get this car. You will not find much to any Mustang Mach 1 comparable to this car out in the world, so the opportunity to own this beautifully maintained example should not be squandered.
