Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present a collection of gas dragsters Gassers in our Indianapolis showroom. This one, Morris Monster a 1958 Morris Minor based A/Gas dragster, is powered by a big block 454 Chevrolet fed by dual four barrel carburetors on a tunnel ram intake driving through a manual valve body TH400 transmission. Beautiful blue custom metallic paint really makes this handmade Gasser pop in the sun. Here is some history for those who would like background on this exciting style of dragster. The term Gasser refers to a style of drag race car that was prolific in the late 1950s through the 1960s that ran on gasoline as fuel, as opposed to race fuel. These cars typically competed in heads up drag races that were classed by engine size and car weight. In the faster classes the cars used a straight axle front suspension that produced the intimidating stance that gassers are known for. Easily recognized by common features like the higher front end stance that was developed as a means of weight transfer to the rear wheels for traction, this style became popular later as builders attempted to achieve a traditional or nostalgic race look. These cars became fan favorites as the well-known racers began to run grudge matches for higher purses. In no time these matches were the top billing at many shows due to the crowd entertainment factor. Gassers were the top drag racing classes in the period that is now referred to as the gasser war years, which ranged from 1955 through 1968.In addition to the straight axle, most gassers also sported Halibrand wheels, no front bumper, and had a front mounted Moon tank. The gasser form was dictated by function and most builders looked to eliminate as much weight as possible. Having their exhaust pipes exit through the front fender to shorten the length of exhaust tubing is another common characteristic of gassers. Builders used 1930s through 1950s production coupes or sedans to create these highly modified racing vehicles. Late model cars were not allowed in the Gas classes until 1967, and the gas classes were totally eliminated by NHRA in 1972. They run today all over the United States and down under in Australia and New Zealand in vintage and nostalgia drags. To view this gas dragster, please visit our site at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call 317-688-1100, or email us at indy@gatewayclassiccars.com. To see this 1958 Morris Minor A/Gas dragster in person, stop by our showroom located at 4400 West 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268. https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/NDY/1161/1958-Morris-Minor

Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this sought-after 1964 Studebaker Avanti for sale on consignment with our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. The Avanti was one of the fastest and most advanced American vehicles ever made when it hit showroom floors in 1962. The orders came flying in but Studebakers problem was they couldnt keep pace with demand. The Avanti had a complex fiberglass body construction that required more time and skilled labor to produce than customers had patience for. Buyers grew tired of waiting and canceled their orders, meanwhile parent company Studebakers financial woes and death spiral continued to worsen. The short 18-month production run for the Avanti ended in December 1963 with less than 5,000 cars built in total- this car would have been built in late 63 but titled as a 1964. This car is painted in Black and has all kinds of design quirks from the curved sides, coke-bottle beltline and a jacked up rear end that gave the car a wedge-like profile from the side. It has a European grand tourer look that many American-made cars at the time were struggling to replicate. For power, Studebaker pulled the 289 CID V8 engine straight from its Hawk and in naturally aspirated form like this car it would have put out around 240 factory rated horsepower. The engine pulls strong in every gear and the transmission (a 4-speed manual) is easy to use with a light clutch. The throaty mufflers with dual exiting pipes really help this car sound as good as it looks and turn a lot of heads. The interior of the Avanti is a design feat on its own! The Black vinyl seating to the ornamental steering wheel, woodgrain accents and the upscale center console and gauge cluster; its all ergonomically pleasing and well ahead of its time. Theres even a functional cubby to access the trunk compartment in the back seats- probably a nod to the “family element of this 4-passenger car so the kids could access the cooler in the trunk while driving! You already know that this 1964 Studebaker is worth taking a look at for collectability alone. Just wait until you get behind the wheel though; youll have a hard time staying away from driving it! Give our helpful and knowledgeable Sales staff a call today and make this Avanti all yours today at (623) 900-4884 to reserve your spot in the drivers seat. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is delighted to offer this classic 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolets new sports car, the Corvette, which was publicly unveiled in prototype form just a month before. Under rapid development, the Thunderbird went from idea to prototype in about a year, being unveiled to the public at the Detroit Auto Show on February 20, 1954. Like the Corvette, the Thunderbird had a two-seat coupe/convertible layout. Production of the Thunderbird began later in 1954 on September 9 with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954. Though sharing some design characteristics with other Fords of the time, such as single, circular headlamps and tail lamps and modest tailfins, the Thunderbird was sleeker and more athletic in shape, and had features like a faux hood scoop and a 140 mph speedometer hinting a higher performance nature that other Fords didnt possess. The exterior was professionally painted in a RED while the interior is RED and White vinyl. The two complement each other very nicely. Under the hood youll find a potent 312 CID V8 engine backed by a 3-spd automatic transmission, but youll also find a rare A/C option. The valve covers are the original Thunderbird ribbed covers that scream 50s style. Its probably the first thing youll notice when you open the hood. Under the chrome air cleaner sits on a 4BBL carburetor that the purists will surly love. The infamous porthole hard top is in amazing condition and painted red on this T-Bird. With the hardtop secured into place the road noise diminishes significantly. Other options include: AM radio, manual convertible top, power seats vinyl interior, and wide white wall radial tires. This is a classic Thunderbird with a timeless look which bodes well for an investment piece and a fun driver alike. To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures, please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or call to speak with one of our friendly and knowledgeable staff at (954)227 -4202 or make an appointment to see this car at our showroom come to 4020 NW.126TH AVE. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa Florida is proud to present this Fully Restored 1969 Toyota Land Cruiser! The Venerable FJ40 evolved from early Toyota BJ and J20 series 4x4s. These were copies of the classic US army Jeep during the Korean war. By 1960, Toyota had refined their recipe for the 4x4 runabout formula and deemed the FJ40 suitable for world export. This lovely Tan FJ40 comes to us by way of Columbia but appears to be American specd with a 145hp, 1bbl, gasoline inline-six, with 3 speed manual and 4WD, with a high and low transfer case. This Truck was blessed with a frame off restoration from to bottom, inside and out. Its numbers matching, but the motor and trans were rebuilt and serviced. The rest of the drivetrain had all worn parts replaced and or freshened. It also sports new shocks, modern AC and heater, USB stereo, heavy duty of roading Jack and Jerry can. The front illumination has been augmented with 4 LEDs driving lights, which compliment the upgraded bumper with a modern, heavy-duty winch. The old factory, canvas soft-top was tossed for a new higher quality roof with contrasting orange piping. The piping is a ideal match for the orange wrapped front and rear seats. A combination that catches the eye and looks period correct. With a flick of the key, the 6-cylinder engine roars to life and pulls this little 4x4 down the road with minimal fuss. Its a plucky little truck with a borderline agricultural feel as it takes you back to that only the essentials driving experience FJ40s are known for. Its rugged, reliable, and has classic good looks! Everything youd want is a vintage 4x4! To see 100+ HD pictures and video of this 1969 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser, please visit GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1947 Lincoln Club Coupe at the Milwaukee Location. Nothing says luxury on wheels like the word and mention of the name brand Lincoln. This 47 shows as a shining example and carries a lot of history behind it. The Zephyr had been regarded as the flagship model of Lincoln for sometime now through the 40s but the name was dropped shortly after the conclusion of World War II in which the successor was now just named the Club Coupe. Under the hood the Club Coupe had adopted the large and long V12 that was also carried by its predecessor carrying over 100 horsepower at a top speed exceeding 90 miles per hour. The V12 is mated up to a column shifted 3-speed manual transmission that offered ahead of its time reliability but today stands as a nostalgic way to cruise down the road. The Lincoln is offered up with AM radio and power windows to make this classic monster a little more enjoyable. Dont miss out on a car that youre sure to not see very often at all! This 1947 Lincoln Club Coupe is at our Milwaukee Showroom at Gateway Classic Cars and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com which includes 100+ HD photos and HD video. Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is exhilarated to offer this black-on-black 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR with the meanest stance you will ever see for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. The ‘KR’ stands for ‘King of the Road’ and first appeared in 1968. Ford paid a fitting tribute to this Shelby GT500KR by releasing a special-edition 40th anniversary version in 2008. Over 1000 cars were sold that year, but demand was so great that Ford green-lighted a second year of production; our Shelby GT500KR is one of 712 produced in 2009. Under the carbon-fiber composite hood of this King of the Road is a thumping 5.4l supercharged 32-valve V8 engine with just over 6000 original miles on it. Those low, low miles come fully documented with the original bill of sale and receipts for work that has been done to the car throughout its ownership history. Our 2009 Mustang Shelby GT500KR comes with plenty of creature comforts such as an AM/FM radio, 6-disc CD player with a Shaker sound system, cruise control, power windows/locks/mirrors and driver’s seat, anti-lock brakes with an air induction kit and traction control. Just imagine yourself in the leather sports seats embroidered with Caroll Shelby’s signature listening to the bark from the brushed stainless exhaust pipes, the moan from the cold-air intake and the whine from the supercharger in your ears as you plant your right foot firmly on the gas pedal and blast through the gears of the 6-speed, short-throw manual transmission. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to own this mighty, modern muscle car by contacting our Scottsdale showroom today at (623) 900-4884 or scottsdale@gatewayclassiccars.com for more information on this 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR for sale or to schedule an appointment to view the vehicle in person

Description:

For Sale in our Nashville Showroom we are excited to present this 1970 Dodge Challenger. This car is a Star, no really, its a been in a Hollywood movie, a popular crime show, and a tire commercial. This 1970 Dodge Challenger was driven by Jack Nicholson in the 2007 movie, The Bucket List. This is not your run of the mill 1970 Dodge Challenger as its not an original car but a resto-mod created by famed muscle-car builder Ted Moser, who also built them for the Fast and Furious movie series. Its powered by a late model 5.7-liter Hemi V8 backed by an automatic transmission. The whole package is brought to a halt by a set of Weldman disc brakes. After The Bucket List movie, the car appeared in a few TV roles, including on NCIS with Mark Harmon, and the 2010 movie, The Runaways. So, now you know where the cars been, but the best is yet to come. With less than 3000 miles on this build, the car has a ton of life left and is ready for someone to driver her. The late model power plant affords you plenty of power and creature comforts such as air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. Add to this the safety of radial tires and seat belts and this car is like driving a late model with the style of a 1970s. If youre ready to star in your own bucket list adventure or for more information please call the Nashville showroom at 615-213-1800 or e-mail us at Nashville@GatewayClassicCars.com http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/NSH/816/1970-Dodge-Challenger

Description:

For sale in our Nashville TN showroom is a rare 1970 Dodge Super bee. This Dodge super bee in our Nashville TN showroom is 1 of 11 ever built! Take a second and really let that sink in. With only 11 ever built how many could possibly be left. And how many of them are still in showroom quality. This particular 1970 Dodge Super bee has been well taken care of and loved for many years. It belongs to an avid MOPAR lover and collector. This Super bee is as tough as it looks, equipped with a beefy 383 cubic inch Chrysler engine and the virtually indestructible Torqueflight 727 transmission. The green go paint still has plenty of shine and life left in it. The interior has the ultra comfy tall back bucket seats wrapped in premium black vinyl. The original Dodge Super Bee was based on the Dodge Coronet two-door coupe, and was produced from 1968 until 1970. It was Dodges low-priced powerful muscle car and a rebadged version of the Plymouth Road Runner. The origin of the name, Super Bee, has its basis in the B Body designation pertinent to Chryslers mid-sized cars, including the Road Runner and Charger. In addition to minor external differences, such as larger rear wheel openings, the bumblebee tailstripe and fancier grille, and the taillight ornamentation, the Super Bee also used actual diecast chrome-plated Bee medallions. These three-dimensional medallions were prominently mounted in a raised position in the grille/hood area and the trunklid/taillight area of the car throughout the first three years of production. If you want a car that stands apart from the competition this is the car to have. OPTIONS INCLUDE: AM/FM radio, CD player, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl interior, Aluminum alloy wheels For more information call the Nashville showroom at 615-213-1800 or email us at Nashville@gatewayclassiccars.com

This great example of a classic Oldsmobile has been fully restored from top to bottom with all quality original parts that are very hard to find for these cars nowadays. This 2 owner Oldsmobile was originally a North Carolina car where it spent most of its days and also where it was restored. At first glance you will notice the menacing Sandy Grey paint that is more common on newer cars today, it has a clear coated flat finish to give it a nice sheen. This Oldsmobile serves as a convertible as well! Drop the top on your way out of the garage and feel the wind blow by you while you cruise in this rare classic. As you travel to the interior you will notice the beautiful deep red leather interior that is freshly upholstered and looks as good as it did when it rolled off the factory floor. The true gem of this vehicle is the engine. Powering this boat of a car is a straight 8-cylinder engine that is the most dependable and smoothest running engine of its time. Married to that great engine is an automatic Hydromatic transmission that has been rebuilt recently and shifts through gears with ease. Description:

John Speed Cobra was shipped from South Africa and was built to look like the vintage race car that of the day! The AC Cobra was the brain child of Carroll Shelby, a legendary race car driver of his day, and always dreamed of the day where he could build sports cars. In the early sixties, the perfect opportunity arose. Carroll Shelby saw the potential in this sleek lined sports car and the rest is history. Due to limited production numbers, most people could not afford to purchase the real deal or even find one for that matter, so a few manufacturers decided to create replicas that look like the real deal for a fraction of the price. This stunning version of a 1967 Cobra was built in 2005 and features a 351 that was built up and punched out to a 393 CID V8 that packs a serious punch. Slotted and crossed drilled disc brakes on all four corners. Independent rear suspension. Hooked up behind the engine is a Tremec 5-Speed transmission that allows excellent drivability and fun! With static cling decals that can be removed without harming the paint. This car was purchased, built, and maintained by the same owner for the last 12 years and only 3,265 miles have been put on it since it was built. When you jump inside, you will feel like you have been transported back to the sixties and are about to set off on the race of your life. The flat dash with simplistic gauge layout allows the drive to carefully monitor what is happening with the car as you are cruising. Once you get out on the open road and start shifting through the gears you will be blown away by the sheer power and agility of a car that was developed and raced 50 years ago. It is an absolute thrill to drive and assures there will never be a dull moment when behind the wheel. This Cobra runs and drives great and is ready to go to a new home where it will be truly loved and enjoyed! If you have always wanted to own a Cobra, take a closer look at this one and start living your dream. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1967 Cobra in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.
