First model year sales totaled 81,065 units setting a first- year sales record that was not broken until 1960. Remarkably, over two million vehicles were manufactured during Desotos long run. The Desoto logo featured a stylized image of the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto for which the car was named after. Our 1936 Desoto Coupe is a fine example featuring timely Art Deco styling. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa Is proud to be able to offer this excellent 1960 Buick LeSabre. This beautiful machine has only 51,551 miles on it and is ready to hit route 66 for a cross country cruise. The 1960 LeSabre received a major facelift, the new body design sharing only the roof and trunk lid with the 1959 model. The new Buick now sported a concave grille and horizontal headlights centered by Buicks then-new Tri-Shield logo, which is still in use today. Reintroduced to Electras and other Buicks for 1960 were the chrome VentiPort portholes first introduced in 1940 and last seen in 1957. LeSabre and Invicta models had three portholes while Electras and Electra 225s were four-holers. Inside, a revised instrument panel featured a Mirromatic speedometer for which the lens could be adjusted to better visibility to suit the driver. A new two-spoke steering wheel with horn bars was introduced, replacing the time-honored horn ring then still common to most automobiles. The 250- and 300-horsepower 364-cubic-inch V8s were continued from 1959, but a new no-cost option was a 235-horsepower lower-compression two-barrel version of the 364 with a lower compression ratio to permit use of regular-grade gasoline instead of the premium fuel required with all other Buick engines. This Buick two door hard top is in fantastic shape inside and out. The crazy stylish red, black, and white interior is completely redone to feel fresh and in like new condition. Silver paint that shines in the sun with chrome all over the body makes this car very sharp and turns heads anywhere that it goes. The real fun is with the 3 on the tree manual transmission. This car starts right up and runs like a dream. To see 100+ HD pictures and videos of this 1960 Buick LeSabre two door hardtop, please visit GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Now Featured in our Denver showroom is this great example of a 1966 Pontiac GTO that has a perfect mix between classic looks and performance! A full restoration and repaint was finished in 2003 and still looks nearly as good as it did the day it was completed. The exterior color is a custom Chrysler Inferno red that gives a deep shine. The body and undercarriage are very clean with no sign of repairs being needed anytime soon. Matching the exterior is the reupholstered Montero red interior that not only looks great but is also very comfortable. The first glimpse of the drivetrain comes right there in the factory option center console where the shifter attached to the M-22 Rock Crusher 4-speed protrudes through. Hooked up in front of the tough transmission is a monster of an engine. Starting as a 400 block, it was bored and stroked out to 467 cubic inch V8 and sounds extraordinarily healthy when it comes to life! The rotating assembly includes; Eagle rods, Ross pistons, and Pro Racing bearings. Roller rocker arms and a Nostalgic roller cam provide a healthy lope that hits you in your chest when standing next to it. The top end includes a set of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and paired with the headers provides excellent flow required for such an engine. Right on top is the always sought-after Tri-Power Rochester carb set up that was recently rebuilt, tuned, and jetted bringing plenty of air flow and fuel to the mix. Keeping this built up engine at the correct temperature is a Be Cool aluminum radiator equipped with an electric fan in addition to the mechanical one attached to the engine to eliminate any potential issues. As you open the door, slide in the drivers seat, and fire it up any car guy cant help but feel the hairs on the back of their neck stand up from the thump that this car produces. The drive quality matches the rest of the car well with a smooth ride and a bite to back up that bark. It is very tame and mellow when just cruising, but as soon as you roll into the throttle it comes alive! As you roll through the corners, you will be impressed with how well this classic muscle car handles thanks to the handling package that is equipped including upgraded springs, shocks, and a stabilizer bar. Bringing this car back to a stop quickly and safely is a set of power disc brakes up front. This car has been well sorted and very well maintained over the years and is an excellent option for someone looking for a turnkey classic muscle car that is ready to be driven and what better muscle car to pick than the very first and arguably most iconic of them all, the GTO. Recently changed parts include; a new clutch, front rotors, starter, battery, rear shocks, brake vacuum pump, and ignition switch. Full PHS documentation included with the sale of this car! This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1966 Pontiac GTO in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle. This gorgeous Chevelle is a true L65 350 CiD car from the factory and it has been restored to a very high level of quality. This show car has plenty of show & go making it a hit at your next car meet, show, or just cruising down the streets! 1971 was the first year Chevy went from the quad headlights to the dual set up. The car went through a full & complete restoration from the bottom to the top in 2013. The car was painted in a high-quality deep red color that looks stunning in the sunshine. Our pictures do not do this car’s finish justice! Getting into the driver’s seat you will find the new leather interior that is very comfortable and really makes the inside of the car stand out. Although it started its life as a 350 car, this one is now powered by a 496 CiD V8 that is estimated at a 698 HP output. The motor was custom built to customer specs by Marks Racing Engines out of Colorado. No expense was spared in the build and any one who sees this car in person can attest to the quality. The powerhouse V8 is paired to a custom built Turbo-400 that has a gear vendor option with OD that makes the car a 4-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly throughout the gears, also features a Hurst shifter. The engine & trans have less than 600 miles logged onto them since their installation. A nice touch is the billet aluminum pulleys and serpentine belt system. Dont worry about the big block and all that horsepower because the car is outfitted with a custom high performance aluminum radiator with 2 electric high performance fans that is set up for 1000HP capacity, so this car can be driven in traffic all day long while that big block stays cool. The carbon fiber dash inserts with staggered Autometer gauges, billet steering wheel, custom center console, custom kick panels with component speakers, & reclining bucket seats in the front. The fit & finish on this car is very nicely done, this is a show car that is begging for the road! The car sits on 17-inch American Racing wheels wrapped in brand new Falken tires that sit in front of BAER slotted & drilled performance disc brakes on all 4 corners of the car. If the disc brakes weren’t enough stopping power the car has been equipped with a hydroboost braking system that bypasses the use of a vacuum and uses pressure from the power steering pump to give you all the assistances you need to bring all 700HP to a halt! The car has too many parts to list & has a lot of documentation that goes with the car. Including the original build sheet for the car, pictures of Chip Foose signing the car, more receipts than you can count, & much more. This one is a real beauty and would be a dream to own for any enthusiasts or collector. If you been looking to get into a beautiful, powerful, iconic, & rust free Chevelle, but not break the bank doing it, call us before it’s in somebody else’s garage. For more information or to schedule an appointment to view this Chevelle in person, please call the Houston showroom at (832)-243-6220 or email us directly at Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com.

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this beautiful 1965 Pontiac GTO hardtop for sale in our Arizona showroom. Legend has it that the GTO started the whole muscle car craze in 1964, so this awesome car, painted a mesmerizing color called Slate Mist Blue, would be considered its sophmore offering. With a 389 cubic inch engine with three twos (1966 style), a manual four speed transmission, and a posi-traction rear axle with a very cruiser-friendly 3.23 gear set, this Pontiac has all of the right equipment, including the PHS documentation! In addition, the car has all new high performance suspension components so it handles far better than any mid-sized car from the mid-60s. To help slow this baby down, power assisted front disc brakes stop it surely and quickly every time. The recipient of a very thorough restoration, the black interior, other than the carpet, is still the original that GM workers installed more than a half-century ago. Many of the original parts (intake, carb, air cleaner, etc) are included with the sale of this iconic car. This gorgeous 1965 Pontiac GTO hardtop for sale in our Arizona showroom is sure to please any Pontiac or muscle car enthusiast. It does everything exceptionally well and looks very handsome as its doing it. Dont miss this fine example of Sixties Poncho muscle. The year was 1968. Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In made its debut on NBC. At the same time, Plymouth paid $50,000 to Warner Brothers -Seven Arts to use the Road Runner name and likeness from their Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner cartoons (as well as a beep, beep horn which Plymouth paid $10,000 to develop). This beautifully restored example has the correct horn, but that is just the beginning. Painted a stunning Synergy Green, this Road Runner includes the numbers matching 383 CID V8 big block engine and 4-speed A833 manual transmission. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2017, just 200 miles since, including a fresh +.0030 bores. The factory 4-speed transmission is mated to an 8 3/4 rear end with 3:23 Sure Grip(posi) gears. This radiant and orderly engine bay must be seen to be appreciated fully. Updates include a heat and A/C kit by Vintage Air, updated wiring harness from American Auto Wire and all new brake & fuel lines. Other options include: seat belts, power brakes, electronic ignition, and front disc brakes. The quality work did not stop with the mechanics. This roomy interior is highlighted by new upholstery in black / silver vinyl that complement the OEM dash and gauges. You will feel the thunder of new dual stainless exhaust and Flowtech headers while firmly contacted to the ground by new 17” Retro Wheels and new Nitto performance tires. This fresh restoration demands to be shown, but once you get behind the wheel, look outside through all new glass at the road ahead and feel the high performance big block come to life, the journey has just begun! Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro for sale in our Houston showroom. Of special note, this is THE 1969 Camaro that Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove in the Goodys Headache Powders commercial, and comes with authentication (including Dale Jr.s signature). One of the most iconic of the Pony Cars, the 1969 Camaro has developed a cult-like following. The Camaro was introduced in 1967 as Chevrolets answer to combat the success of Fords Mustang, which created a whole new vehicle segment, later dubbed Pony Cars. For 1969, the Camaro received all-new sheet metal (except for the hood and trunk), which served to give the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with the heavy “V” cant, and the headlights were given a new recessed position. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider and more aggressive look. The wheel wells were flattened with sculpted feature lines flowing off towards the rear of the car and rear-slanting simulated air slots were positioned ahead of the rear wheel. The front had a full width chrome bumper integrated with the body color grille surround and round parking lights positioned on either side of the license plate. At the rear were wider tail light bezels with triple segment lenses. This styling is considered by many Camaro enthusiasts as the ultimate muscle car look and arguably the most desirable. This car is presented in its original LeMans Blue paint (as depicted on the cowl tag), along with performance white stripe accents. Under the hood lurks a high-compression full roller 350 CID V8, built by Conroes Choice Automotive. It sports a pair of Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads and FAST EFI TBI Fuel Injection sits atop the Edelbrock hi-rise aluminum manifold. An MSD Digital 6AL ignition system helps boost the spark, while coated headers suction the exhaust gases into a 2.5 dual exhaust system, and the performance mufflers give it that throaty muscle car sound that enthusiasts crave. The hi-po 350 sends the power to the rear via a built 700R4 4-speed automatic, which twists the 3.90:1 gears in its 10-bolt Posi rear end. In the event you find yourself spending too much time in the throttle, savoring the high RPM howl this 350 makes, the two-piece slotted and drilled Wilwood rotors and their accompanying multipiston calipers up front will help you get back to legal digits quickly. Inside this cool coupe is an Ivory bucket seat interior (also noted on the cowl tag), which seems practically new, as does the black carpet. An Equus tri-gauge cluster above the console helps keep the driver informed about critical operating systems, as well. The console features a period correct staple shifter, with an updated gear indicator bezel, alluding to the 4-speed transmission (with D-3-2-1 positions, rather than the D-2-1 of a 3-speed auto). Additional features on this 1969 Camaro for sale include Vintage-style AM/FM Radio with Aux port, Power Brakes, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, and Vinyl Interior. The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. If there is a car that answers all the questions of is it a good investment, is it fun and appealing, will it get noticed at a car show, stop light, anywhere is it the best American sports car? Well here is your answer, plain and simple a C2 Corvette. This Nassau blue vette stops you in your tracks and excites every sense of your car needs. The 350 cid V-8 engine is not numbers matching, but runs like a swiss clock with the recent rebuild on the transmission. If you can’t see yourself in this car with the AC on with the clean white top up on the hot days and the top down on those perfect weather days, then you have never experienced the feeling of a corvette. This is a better than average driver and not so perfect you are afraid to pull it out of your garage. Have we said what a great Vette this is, well, it is. The second generation Corvette, which introduced Sting Ray to the model, continued with fiberglass body panels, and overall, was smaller than the first generation. The car was designed by Larry Shinoda with major inspiration from a previous concept design called the Q Corvette, which was created by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell. Earlier, Mitchell had sponsored a car known as the Mitchell Sting Ray in 1959 because Chevrolet no longer participated in factory racing. This vehicle had the largest impact on the styling of this generation, although it had no top and did not give away what the final version of the C2 would look like. The third inspiration was a Mako Shark Mitchell had caught while deep-sea fishing. Production started for the 1963 model year and ended in 1967. Introducing a new name, Sting Ray, the 1963 model was the first year for a Corvette and it featured a distinctive tapering rear deck. The Sting Ray featured hidden headlamps, non-functional hood vents, and an independent rear suspension.[24] Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov never liked the split rear window because it blocked rear vision, but Mitchell thought it to be a key part of the entire design. Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced in 1965. Other options available on the C2 included the Wonderbar auto-tuning AM radio, AM-FM radio, air conditioning, a telescopic steering wheel, and headrests. The Sting Rays independent rear suspension was successfully adapted for the new-for-1965 Chevrolet Corvair, which solved the quirky handling problems of that unique rear-engine compact. Options include: AC, power steering, wipers, horn, seat belts, gauges, AM/FM, radial, clock, radial tires, rally wheels, convertible top, and turn signals. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present a selection of gas dragsters Gassers for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. This model, Shazam, is a 1933 Willys replica B/Gas dragster powered by a 355 Chevrolet driving through a 350 Chevrolet automatic transmission to a 12 bolt rear end with a 3.83:1 ratio. The body is all fiberglass on a custom frame with a roll cage. Paint is PPG orange metalflake with a yellow and green stripe, the interior is in green sparkle vinyl. Here is some history for those who would like background on this exciting style of dragster. The term Gasser refers to a style of drag race car that was prolific in the late 1950s through the 1960s that ran on gasoline as fuel, as opposed to race fuel. These cars typically competed in heads up drag races that were classed by engine size and car weight. In the faster classes the cars used a straight axle front suspension that produced the intimidating stance that gassers are known for. Easily recognized by common features like the higher front end stance that was developed as a means of weight transfer to the rear wheels for traction, this style became popular later as builders attempted to achieve a traditional or nostalgic race look. These cars became fan favorites as the well-known racers began to run grudge matches for higher purses. In no time these matches were the top billing at many shows due to the crowd entertainment factor. Gassers were the top drag racing classes in the period that is now referred to as the gasser war years, which ranged from 1955 through 1968.In addition to the straight axle, most gassers also sported Halibrand wheels, no front bumper, and had a front mounted Moon tank. The gasser form was dictated by function and most builders looked to eliminate as much weight as possible. Having their exhaust pipes exit through the front fender to shorten the length of exhaust tubing is another common characteristic of gassers. Builders used 1930s through 1950s production coupes or sedans to create these highly modified racing vehicles. The most common base vehicles were Willys coupes, Austin and Anglia sedans, and the Chevy Tri-Five cars. Late model cars were not allowed in the Gas classes until 1967, and the gas classes were totally eliminated by NHRA in 1972. They run today all over the United States and down under in Australia and New Zealand in vintage and nostalgia drags. To view this gas dragster, please visit our site at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call 317-688-1100, or email us at indy@gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this beautiful 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. 1965 was the year 4-wheel disc brakes were introduced to the C2 Corvette. This car has a very nice Rally Red paint that is in great condition. The car is powered by a rebuilt 327 CID V8 to L79 specs. Listening to it idle is a treat, never mind winding it through all four gears. The completely rebuilt 4-speed Muncie M20 transmission sends the twist to a set of 3.36 gears with a PosiTrac differential. The 3.36 ratio provides both highway friendliness and good torque multiplication, making this Vette very street friendly and peppy to drive. Both the engine & the transmission were rebuilt a little over 8k miles ago. The four-wheel disc brakes really improve its stopping distances, too. This Corvette rides on classic period-correct knock-off style aluminum wheels that are wrapped in fairly new 205/70/14 black wall radials. The car has been subjected to an exhaustive cosmetic and mechanical restoration. The fiberglass prep was expertly done with the surfaces sanded to near perfection. The gaps were expertly aligned and the Rally Red paint was finished with a two-stage urethane. In addition, all the chrome was restored, the stainless spent time with a buffing wheel, and the shiny rocker trim looks new. A bright white convertible top was installed in January 2017. The interior of the car is in great condition and ready for a new owner to get behind the wheel. The black vinyl seats are in like new condition and have very little wear. For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a beautiful 1932 Chevrolet Phaeton. The odometer on this 32 Phaeton reads 21,451 and is the actual mileage on this beautiful Phaeton. Starting with such a low mileage car, certainly makes for an easier and more precise restoration. Options for this 1932 Chevrolet Phaeton include: Manual Convertible Top, Vinyl Olive Interior, Manual Turn Signals, Windshield Wiper, Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires, and Wire Wheels. Powering this Chevrolet Phaeton is a 3.2L Stove Bolt 6 cylinder engine, which is believed to be original to the car. It is a naturally aspirated engine that features 2 valves per cylinder and produces 60 horsepower. A 3 speed manual transmission transfers those horses to the rear end, which houses 4.10 gears. The Sage Green exterior, black fender and running boards and dual side mounts against the Tan top, Olive interior, and Red wire wheels with new Wide White Walls produce a very unique look that does not disappoint. The tan top and Olive vinyl interior are both in very good condition, free from any rips, tears, or serious wear. The Phaeton body style differs from a convertible in that it does not have a winding or sliding windows in the doors nor does it have a permanent, fixed roof. Due to the lack of a rigid or fixed roof, the Phaeton was much lighter than a convertible. The Phaeton body style was faded out after the convertible style became much more popular with its ability to be driven in all types of weather. Description:

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Pro-Street is the ultimate expression of high-performance, with race-grade equipment and show car looks. This car has the stance, and the attitude to back it up. The stunning black paint is show quality and is complimented by a set of very well done white racing stripes. Chrome bumpers fore and aft add some contrast, with dark-tinted windows to complete the look. There arent many cars that are more perfectly proportioned than the early Camaro, and the Pro-Street treatment on this one only enhances what is already a slam-dunk design. All of the car is steel with the exception of the hood and trunk lid car and hasnt been radically modified, although a few behind-the-scenes changes were definitely required to get those large meats under the rear fenders. If this were a full race piece, thered be a bare-bones interior with a single bucket. But in Pro-Street, full interiors are part of the package. High-back Procar buckets are upholstered in black leather, there are beautiful carpets on the floor, and the stock door panels keep with the classic look. In place of the rear seat is a set of fully upholstered wheel tubs that look like they were done to factory specs when the car was new. The original dashboard has been refinished, too, and now carries a beautiful set of Auto Meter Pro Comp gauges in the original pods ahead of the driver. But the crossover to race spec doesnt mean youre roughing it, because theres plenty of sound-deadening material inside. The floor mounted ratchet shifter manages a built TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, and a small diameter steering wheel fits the look. In back, the trunk is pretty much full of wheel tubs, a fuel cell, and a battery, and the workmanship of the install is very impressive. Youll get the picture when you open the hood and find a thundering 502 cubic inch big block sporting a Holley. Finished in more polished aluminum parts than youll find at a Goodguys show, its a street-legal piece that thinks it was built for the track. Theres a pair of ceramic coated long tube headers, and an MSD ignition in addition to all the stout goodies inside. The reinforced chassis carries a coil-over front suspension and a 4-link that carries a narrowed Ford 9” rear end with 4.11 gears inside, so nobody can accuse this of being a race-only piece. Wilwood disc brakes live at all four corners and the full exhaust system sounds simply spectacular. Rolling stock consists of Billet Specialties aluminum wheels with 165/80R15 radials up front and 31x18.5x15 Hoosier Quick Time meats out back. You can view this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. The Tri-Five station wagons have become very popular over the years for collectors and enthusiast alike, especially ones restored to this level. This awesome 56 210 Handyman Wagon underwent an extensive 5 year restoration that was built to keep the classic styling yet add new technology for reliability and performance. Everything on this car was either replaced, refinished, or upgraded and the workmanship is outstanding. As many original parts were used as possible including all the stainless trim and chrome parts. This 1956 Chevrolet 210 Handyman Wagon is powered by a Fuel Injected 5.3L Vortec V8 engine, backed by a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission, running to a single-pull rear end with 3.56 gears. The 5.3L V8 has a LS1 intake plenum added along with Sanderson Headers running out to a dual stainless steel exhaust system that sounds absolutely amazing. This car was brought back from Phoenix, Arizona and then completely disassembled, taken down to the frame and the body was put on a rotisserie and sanded down to bare metal. It was then painted in a Hot Huse Dragon Fire Red and Leaf Silver color. To make a more streamlined appearance the divider trim on the sides and the rear Vs were removed. The fins on the hood mounted bird were also removed and the front and rear bumpers were changed to smoothies. The interior is also just as impressive with a two-tone red and grey theme throughout matching the exterior colors. The factory bench seats were retained and covered in leather as well as the door panels, the center line of the dash was marbleized for a custom touch, and a Dakota Digital gauge set was put in to monitor the vitals. To improve the overall ride and driving experience the front was lowered with 2 drop spindles and a leaf spring pocket kit in the back with coil-overs. The steering system is a rack and pinion, power steering setup with an Ididit steering column and a Flaming River steering wheel. The braking capabilities are handled through a power four wheel disc brake setup that will slow you down in a hurry.
