Description:

Now for sale at Gateways of Houston is this beautiful light blue 2010 Ferrari California. The California is a car filled with firsts for Ferrari: the first front-engine V-8, the first use of direct injection, the first seven-speed transmission, the first true launch-control system, the first retractable hardtop, and the first stacked exhaust. The direct injection helps improve mileage and decrease emissions but because the California is heavier than the F430 it shares its engine architecture with, the tuning is optimized to boost torque by 14 lb-ft at the expense of 29 horsepower, for a total of 454 hp and 357 lb-ft. All this power is sent through a Getrag dual-clutch paddle shifted seven speed transmission for smooth acceleration and lightning fast gear changes allowing this Italian grand touring car to sprint to 60mph in just 3.5 seconds and running a ¼ mile in just under 12 seconds at 117mph. The cars ceramic brakes have been fined tuned compared to the other Ferrari’s you’ll find on the road, so they are much more user friendly yet still responsive stopping this car at 60mph in just 100 feet. The California features an all new Chassis to help keep this hard top convertible rigid and agile in the corners. This car is a true driving pleasure as you would expect from Ferrari, the California turns mundane trips out into an experience and turns heads wherever you go. Featuring navigation, leather interior, power everything, self-leveling headlights, stability control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, driving zone, and cruise control. To see all the HD pictures and video please go to http://gatewayclassiccars.com/houston/2010/ferrari/california-S1040.html. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to offer this awesome T-Bucket! This one is obviously based on a much older vehicle but is titled as a 1969. This one is powered by a powerful 350 CID V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission for a smooth and punchy driving experience. Safety is enhanced with the addition of seat belts which helps make this car a little less scary to drive. This one is in great shape and ready to hit the road or the strip! The T-Bucket is a hot rod based on a Ford Model T which was made from the 1915 to 1927 era. However, they are typically excessive modified from their factory form. These were favorites among greasers. A youth subculture popularized in the late 1940s and the 50s. The word greaser originated in the 19th century in the United States as a derogatory label for poor laborers. The term was later used to refer to mechanics. It wasnt used in writing to refer to the American subculture of the mid-20th century until the mid-1960s, though in this sense it still evoked a pejorative connotation and a relation to machine work. The name was applied to members of the subculture because of their characteristic greased-back hair. T-Bucket was specifically created and named by Norm Grabowski in the 50s. Hid car was named the Lightning Bug, better known as the Kookie Kar, after being redesigned by Grabowski and appearing in the TV show 77 Sunset Strip, driven by character Gerald “Kookie” Kookson. The exposure it gained led to numerous copies being built. Since the last Model Ts were built in 1927, most modern T-buckets use replica fiberglass bodies. By the 1950s, original steel Model T bodies that had not been completely worn out were becoming increasingly hard to find and in 1957 the first fiberglass T-Bucket body (based on the 1923 version) was introduced by the short-lived Diablo Speed Shop in Northern California. Of the only two or three bodies built by Diablo, one was purchased by Southern California hot rod builder Buzz Pitzen and became the worlds first fiberglass T-bucket. This T-Bucket is in our Houston showroom. Come by and see us at 1910 Cypress Station Dr #200, Houston, TX 77090. You can contact the showroom at (832)243-6220 or email the at Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com

Description:

This meticulously maintained and original Colorado car had a complete engine rebuild just over 1,400 miles ago and the transmission rebuilt just under 10,000 miles ago! Only 566 were built in 1973. 1973 was the 5th year that Cadillac was chosen as pace car through out the years. And this was the second time ever that a front-wheel drive car was leading the pack of race cars down the start lap, the first front-wheel drive pace car was a Cord some time in the 30s. And this was up to 1973 the most powerful pace car ever! The sheer weight of the Eldorado convertible forced the Cadillac engineers to take some measures to allow the car to reach the high speeds needed. The 8.2 liter 500 CID engine was tweaked. The smog control equipment and A/C had been removed. A new crank was installed as was specially forged pistons and a dual exhaust system, even the bumpers were replaced with polished aluminum instead of steel. And there were actually a second spare car supplied by the factory, just incase that something happened to the first. Both pace cars also had hood pins to secure the hood/bonnet as well as the flag pole mounts in the rear. Interestingly enough both cars survived the ordeal and one was actually converted back to a normal Eldorado convertible before being sold to the public. The other of the two actual pace cars was used for numerous testing purposes at the GM/Cadillac plant, for instance for testing rims and tires for the new generation of Chevrolet Corvette that was introduced in 1984. That car is said to have been scrapped and buried somewhere at a test facilities.. Besides the two actual pace cars and the 53 track convertibles, there were a number of coupe devilles, two sedan devilles and even a Fleetwood used during the race week. To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/DEN/113/1973-Cadillac-Eldorado-Pace-Car-Replica or our Denver showroom. Description:

Completely restored and ready for a Sunday cruise! This 1937 Dodge Sedan originally made for Young business executives, is brought back to its former glory and would make a perfect around town driver. Back in 1937 when the Dodge brothers released this stunning sedan, the world was going through big changes. Henry Ford had just initiated the 32 hour work week, Amelia Earhart disappeared over the Pacific Ocean, and the tragic event of the Hindenburg exploding mid-flight killing 36 people. It was truly a different time and when you get in this old Dodge, you can almost picture what it must have been like to live in such an era. Slide into the front seat of the car across the mohair interior and take hold of the larger than life steering wheel to compensate for the lack of power steering. Around the windows and across the dash you will find craftsmanship of what you may find with a fine watch. The wood grained style paired with the metal trim rings around the gauges is difficult to beat. Now its time to start it up; simply press the turn the key, press the clutch in, pull the choke out a bit, adjust your throttle, and press on the starter button near your accelerator. The inline six cylinder engine that came with the car some 90 years ago comes to life! Let it warm up and press in your choke again. Now you are ready to really start enjoying your cruise. Put the gear lever in first and release the clutch, and enjoy the smooth ride that comes with owning a Dodge. One of the biggest claims they made when the car was new that it will save you money on fuel on your commute. That may not necessarily be true anymore, but what it lacks in fuel economy it makes up for in excitement! If it feels as if it is getting a little stuffy in the cabin, reach to the center of the dash and turn the knob to tilt the windshield out giving you a refreshing breeze of outside air. This old Dodge is the perfect weekend cruiser and will be a huge homerun like one you would have seen out of Babe Ruth when this car was new. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1937 Dodge Sedan in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com. http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/DEN/200/1937-Dodge-Sedan

The car has Cobra r style wheels all around. Inside the A pillar gauges give you the cockpit feel while monitoring the vitals. The seats have been treated to a Cobra like suede insert treatment that looks like they came from the factory and really set off the interior. Description:

ATTENTION RACE FANS!! One year before his long awaited Daytona 500 win, Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, in Newton, NC, commissioned a Monte Carlo Z34 dealership only package, celebrating NASCARs Intimidator. Dale Earnhardt would finish 5th in the Championship standings that year. If you are a NASCAR, or motorsports fan, you know about the legacy and legend that is Dale Earnhardt. This car was commissioned by the dealership in 1997 as a celebration of Dales continuing success, and with his passing in 2001, at the Daytona 500, it became a fitting tribute to his status as one of NASCARs greatest of all time. Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet only fitted 25 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34s with this special package, and each was signed by The Man himself, Dale Earnhardt. This car is #21 of 25, has 10,463 original miles, and was lovingly taken care of by the consigner. The power plant is a 3.4L 24 valve DOHC V6; power windows, locks, air conditioning, cruise control, and immaculate leather seats. Dale Earnhardts signature is clearly visible on the passenger side dashboard. This would be a perfect addition to any motorsports or NASCAR enthusiasts collection, or it could be a showpiece for a collector who appreciates racing history and the legendary men who make it. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a very clean 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The third generation of the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am ran from 1982 to 1992. The 1985 Trans Am received design improvements including extended quarter panels, a reshaped nose (including fog lights), functional hood nostrils, and different taillights. This 2-owner Trans Am was repainted in 1988 by the dealer under warranty. The burgundy paint has been babied ever since, as it looks fantastic, especially considering its age. The grey cloth interior is also in very good condition, showing minimal signs of wear and aging. Powering this 85’ Trans Am is the original 305 CID V8 engine that is mated to a 5-speed Borg Warner manual transmission. Not many of the Trans Am’s in the 80’s featured a 5-speed manual transmission, and finding one today proves to be difficult. The odometer reads 70,952, which represents the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Cruise Control, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. This rare 5-speed manual Trans AM fires right up and is ready for a new owner to enjoy it on a daily basis or just on nice sunny days. To view this 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our St. Louis Showroom. Description:

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a rarely seen Corvette Yellow 1978 Chevrolet Corvette. I say rarely seen because the Corvette Yellow was the least produced color in 1978 at 1,243 units. Compare that to 6,502 of the Indy Pace Car black and silver combination and over 15,000 of the two-tone silver anniversary color combination and package. The Corvette Yellow paint is mostly original, there were areas repainted as part of a warranty claim shortly after its purchase that was performed in 1978. Being 40 years old, the paint does show some age, but the body lines and panels all look very good. The original dark brown leather has also aged very well, with only minor signs of wear over the years. Powering this 3-owner 1978 Corvette is the original 350 CID L48 engine. A few parts were replaced along the way, but great effort was taken to maintain originality, including having the carburetor sent off to be refurbished instead of buying a new one. Also, the valve covers were not painted, in order to preserve the markings made by the assembly line worker the day it was produced. The TH-350 automatic transmission is original to the car and shifts the power down the line beautifully. The odometer reads 48,153, which represents the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Leather Interior, Tilt/Telescopic Steering Wheel, T-Tops, Seat Belts, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. This is a great example of a surviving 78’ Corvette in a rare color that drives wonderfully. Description:

For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a gloss black 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. The gloss black paint was sprayed 5 years ago in a 2-stage enamel and clear application. The oyster in color cloth interior has been upgraded by way of black leather bolsters in the seats and woodgrain trim on the console. A rack and pinion steering setup and coil over shocks in the rear help this Corvette handle better than it did when new. A Crate 350 CID V8 was installed 6 years ago and runs strong! The V8 engine features alloy valve covers, Edlebrock aluminum intake, a Holley fuel injection setup, and a D.U.I. distributor. An aluminum radiator has been employed to keep this Crate 350 cool on hot days. A rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission was installed 3 years ago and shifts the power beautifully to the IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) with 3.08 gears. The odometer reads 61,265, which represents the actual mileage on the car, and approximately 25,000 on the Crate V8 engine. Options for this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, T-Tops, Cruise Control, Tilt/Telescopic Wheel, Seat Belts, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. Dropping a more powerful V8 engine is a very popular thing to do to a late C3 Corvette and should not be frowned upon by the purist. The original power output was certainly not Corvette worthy. This is a great example of a driver quality Corvette that is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner for years to come.
