Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present a selection of gas dragsters Gassers for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. This one is a 1962 Chevrolet Nova based C/Gas dragster, and is powered by a 383 stroker driving through a manual valve body TH400 transmission to a 12 bolt positraction rear with 4.11:1 gears. The steel body is painted in red PPG paint and the interior is complete with rollcage, racing seats, and a racing harness. Here is some history for those who would like background on this exciting style of dragster. The term Gasser refers to a style of drag race car that was prolific in the late 1950s through the 1960s that ran on gasoline as fuel, as opposed to race fuel. These cars typically competed in heads up drag races that were classed by engine size and car weight. In the faster classes the cars used a straight axle front suspension that produced the intimidating stance that gassers are known for. Easily recognized by common features like the higher front end stance that was developed as a means of weight transfer to the rear wheels for traction, this style became popular later as builders attempted to achieve a traditional or nostalgic race look. These cars became fan favorites as the well-known racers began to run grudge matches for higher purses. In no time these matches were the top billing at many shows due to the crowd entertainment factor. Gassers were the top drag racing classes in the period that is now referred to as the gasser war years, which ranged from 1955 through 1968.In addition to the straight axle, most gassers also sported Halibrand wheels, no front bumper, and had a front mounted Moon tank. The gasser form was dictated by function and most builders looked to eliminate as much weight as possible. Having their exhaust pipes exit through the front fender to shorten the length of exhaust tubing is another common characteristic of gassers. Builders used 1930s through 1950s production coupes or sedans to create these highly modified racing vehicles. Late model cars were not allowed in the Gas classes until 1967, and the gas classes were totally eliminated by NHRA in 1972. They run today all over the United States and down under in Australia and New Zealand in vintage and nostalgia drags. To view this 1962 Chevrolet Nova gas dragster, please visit our site at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call 317-688-1100, or email us at indy@gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

This beautiful red 1964 Convertible Corvette is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1964 was the second year for what is commonly known as the c2. The convertibles did not have such a drastic change as the coupes which got rid of the now classic split window design. This red beauty is not your typical 64 as you can see the wheel wells have been stretched out a bit so you can put a tad wider tire under the wheel wells. The flip up lights were smoothed out leaving a seamless frontend. The lights have been hidden behind the black grill under the nose. The fiberglass work is top notch and looks like it could be factory. Under the hood is a 327 that runs very well mated up to the Muncie 4 speed transmission this car is an absolute blast to drive. The white vinyl top can easily be put up or down by popping up the back panel where it is stowed when not in use. Pull up on it and it will go into its upright position. Now you ae ready for wind in your hair cruising. Which is something that this car does very well. The ride is what you could expect from a 64 Corvette. The steering is tight and accurate just like it should be. Options on this 1964 Corvette include; AM/FM Radio, Manual Top, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts and Aluminum Wheels in Radial Tires. This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette for sale can be seen at our Louisville showroom, www.gatewayclassiccars.com or call 812- 294-1555 for additional information. Description:

For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is nicely built 1932 Ford highboy roadster. The 1932 Ford Hi-boy Roadster is one of the most iconic hot rods ever produced. With sleek lines and an overall simple design, they became a go to for hot rod restorers everywhere. Eventually though the original steel body Fords were hard to come by so manufacturers started to re-manufacture them out of fiberglass which became the way to go for anyone looking to build their own hot rod, so with it being a complete build up, there are almost no two alike. Built with reliability in mind as well of ease of customization, the engine the tried and true Chevrolet Small Block 350 CID V8 and a 700R4 4speed automatic transmission were utilized. The rear end gear ratio is a 3.50:1 in a Ford 9 casing with Richmond gears for a good mix of acceleration and cruising. The entire build was done with quality parts, from the Autometer gauges to the Wheel Vintiques Steelies wheels. Name brands are all over, Peat and Jakes front shocks, Lokar shifter, Sanderson Headers, The paint is a glass smooth slathering of Kirker Urethane Candy Apple Red with layers of clear. The interior has quite a few custom touches like the custom upholstery we under seat storage, custom wood steering wheel, there is even heater in case the weather gets a bit chilly. Description:

Up for sale in our Tampa showroom is this sharp 1969 Red Chevrolet C10 Resto-Mod. As you can see from the pictures this gorgeous C10 has been restored from the ground up. Starting with: RideTech Air Ride on all four corners, monstrous Willwood brake system, slotted and cross drilled rotors up front, slotted rotors in the back, six piston front calipers, four piston rears. Youll be glad to have those massive brakes when you let loose all the horses of the 434 CID Custom Dart V8. With only 700 miles on the motor since the build. Backed by a four speed 700R4 automatic transmission, linked up to a 12-bolt 3.73 rear end. Hop inside this beautiful second gen. C10 and youll notice the custom work continues with the bench seat and the Velocity gauges. Originally a 327 CID V8 engine was dropped in 1969 in favor of the 350 CID variant rated at 255 gross HP. Along with the new engines came a new grille design for Chevrolet trucks and a more upright hood for both Chevrolet and GMC trucks. A utility variant, known as the K5 Blazer, was also introduced with a shorter wheelbase of 104 inches. The GMC version, known as the Jimmy, was introduced the same year. Some internal cab changes were also made, most notably the switch from a hand-operated parking brake to a foot pedal, and a more modern looking two-spoke steering wheel with plastic horn button replaced the previous years three-spoke wheel with chrome horn button. Also new this year were upper and lower side moldings, which added another two-tone paint option. These were standard on CST trucks, and optional in any other trim level.
