Description:

Now for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this spectacular 2008 B&B Shelby Cobra replica. Under the hood, you will find a mighty 428 CID Cobra Jet V8 engine, mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. Fast is a complete understatement. With little to no weight and a big V8 up front, this thing is a rocket. This one has been very well kept and cared for over it’s life. It has only covered 4807 miles since it was built, almost like buying a new one but for much less. Inside the car you will see harnesses for extra safety. Power is out to the ground via radial race tires that are rapped around racing wheels. Whether you’re looking for a cruiser, track day car, show car or something fun, this is the car. This car gives you the feeling of driving a car that can reach upwards of one million dollars, but without the extreme price tag. A lot of the replicas drive better than the originals and allow you to enjoy the experience without living in fear of owning something that would cost an arm and a leg to fix if something goes wrong. Many parts are easy to get and the cars are fairly simple. The lack of options list is based on how bare bones these are. When you’re behind the wheel of a Cobra, it’s just you, the car and the road ahead. A true driver’s car. Anyone looking at the pictures and video of this beautiful machine can clearly see why it’s a great buy. The design is timeless. Don’t wait until it’s gone to inquire. Don’t miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this one. Contact Gateway Classic Cars in Houston for more information. Financing and shipping options are available. Office hours are Monday through Saturday 9-5pm central time. The telephone number for our showroom is (832) 243-6220 or if you prefer, you can email us at houston@gatewayclassiccars.com.

Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this “Mean” 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport. This Chevelle SS is the perfect way to “blow the doors off” of the competition at the track, and then casually cruise away laughing as they trailer their cars home. This “monster” is packing a balanced and blueprinted 396 with aluminum Edelbrock Heads, Roller Rockers, MSD Ignition, MSD Ultimate HEI Billet Distributor, 750 Double Pumper Demon Carburetor, Hooker Super Competition 2 1/8 Ceramic Coated Headers, and the crown on top is a Race Vortech Supercharger. This amounts to ground-pounding 719 horsepower and 700 foot pounds of torque. There is more to winning than cubic inches and horsepower. You need to be able to put the horsepower to the pavement and control it. You are able to achieve this with Hotchkiss Rear Suspension and new rear springs. All new front and rear polyurethane suspension bushings, transmission mount, motor-mounts, including front and rear sway bar bushings. Once you get going, stopping is the most important part. However, push this Super Sport to the limit and the front and rear Wilwood 4-piston caliper brakes will bring this wild Chevelle to a halt quickly. Some of the other components to this “Beastly” Chevelle are a TCI 700R4 transmission, which tames the vehicle to be easily driven on the highway. In addition to the TCI trans is a TCI torque converter with a 3400 to 3800 stall. A B&M four speed ratchet shifter insures crisp shifts and fast shifting. All the power is put to the ground by the way of a 12 bolt rear-end, housing an Auburn posi-traction with 3.73 gears. Options include AM/FM Cassette/CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Kill Switch, Radial Tires, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels, and Posi Traction. The package is wrapped up in a true “138” code Chevelle which makes this a “Real” Super Sport. Add in the fact that this is a paint code black car and the value on this “Muscle Car” keeps rising. This ‘67 Chevelle is a worthy investment that can easily be returned to stock or kept as is. No matter which way you choose to enjoy this excellent car it will bring you priceless memories. This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Ready to be driven and enjoyed, this mid-year Corvette is an excellent option! The second generation C2 Corvette, which introduced Sting Ray to the model, continued with fiberglass body panels, and overall, was smaller than the first generation. The C2 was later referred to as mid-years. The car was designed by Larry Shinoda with major inspiration from a previous concept design called the Q Corvette, which was created by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell. Earlier, Mitchell had sponsored a car known as the Mitchell Sting Ray in 1959 because Chevrolet no longer participated in factory racing. This vehicle had the largest impact on the styling of this generation, although it had no top and did not give away what the final version of the C2 would look like. The third inspiration was a Mako Shark, Mitchell had caught while deep-sea fishing. For 1966, Chevrolet introduced an even larger 427 CID Big Block version. Other options available on the C2 included the Wonderbar auto-tuning AM radio, AM-FM radio (mid-1963), air conditioning (late-1963), a telescopic steering wheel (1965), and headrests (1966). The Sting Rays independent rear suspension was successfully adapted for the new-for-1965 Chevrolet Corvair, which solved the quirky handling problems of that unique rear-engine compact. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer super nice 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible. The second-generation Barracuda, now a 108 in wheelbase A-body, still shared many components with the Valiant but was stylishly redesigned with model-specific sheet metal, and a convertible and hardtop coupe joining the original fastback offering. In 1967, while the 225 cu in slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in B big-block, rated at 280 bhp which was only available only with the Formula S package. Now just imagine if a 440 V-8 were available in 1967? Why it would have ran circles around the other pony cars. With a little thought and work the 440 V-8 fit right in there. It even looks like its from the factory. Backing the rebuilt 440 is a new automatic transmission that only has about 500 miles on it. To bring this healthy big cubic inch 440 back down to a halt, disc brakes have been added to the front. All the work to this car has been done in the last 2-3 years by Snake Pit Customs of Indianapolis, Indiana. If you’re looking for a fun summer time cruiser, that can burn tires at the push of the pedal, then look no further. This Cuda will be sure to impress your friends! Options for this 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible include; AM/FM radio with CD player, power steering, power convertible top, seat belts and Aluminum wheels wrapped in radial tires. Description:

This 1955 Ford Thunderbird is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. Although many will compare the early T birds or baby birds to the Corvette that is not what Ford was shooting for. The Bird was supposed to be an upscale 2 seater convertible and created a whole new segment known as the personal luxury car. It would be loved by car people but practicality was not one of its strong suites which would kill the original design in just 3 years. Though it would go on for quite some time and grow in both popularity and size these baby birds are the ones that still have the collector’s heart. This 55 is a splendid example of what the collector market is searching for. The red paint is silky smooth and is probably better than you would get from the factory back then. Of course, the white hard top is a great contrast and yet still the best part of it all is the car is exactly the way it left the factory. Yes, this is an original red/white car which in many opinions is the most desirable combo. With all the chrome accents, there is no way you will go unnoticed in this red beauty. The interior is finished back to the way it was as well with the powered bench seat covered in matching red and white vinyl. Take the hardtop off and you’re good to go on that relaxing Sunday cruise but you always take the chance of running into some rain. With this baby bird having a soft top stored behind the seat the problem is solved. Tilt the hood forward and the classic Y block is right at home and looks as if the car was made around it. Maintaining the original 6 Volt/Generator setup this Red bird is ready to fly. The automatic transmission or Ford-o-Matic shifts out nicely especially under hard acceleration. If you have wanted a great car to add to your collection or just a T bird fanatic either way this little drop top is ideal. Options on this 1955 Ford Thunderbird include; Vinyl Interior, Power Seats, Manual Convertible Top, Hub Caps, and Wide White Wall Radial Tires. Description:

Offered for sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this 1949 GMC ¾ Ton Pickup. This special Advance Design pickup has come a long way from its early life on a Mid-Missouri farm. Owned and restored by Dale Jacobs of Dallas, Texas, this 1949 GMC ¾ ton has been down to the frame and came out just a little nicer than new. It’s the old story. It looked very nice and ran just as well but a little extra touch would make it a nicer pickup. Well, the more he got into areas, the more he saw things that just were not quite right. After all it was a farm work truck for so many years. Before long you are tired of seeing so many imperfections, you check your bank account, and say “Let’s just make it a new truck”. It will only take time and money! It was taken down to the bare frame (the easiest part) and the building of the oversize model kit begins. This four-year “frame off” TOTAL restoration project of this “numbers matching” GMC ¾ ton pickup involved doing much research, making local new restoration contacts, and learning so much about early GMC’s. The “Ron Kelly Designs” complete rebuild of this original drivetrain and chassis included the GMC 228 engine long block (.08 over rebore), head, flywheel, clutch, 4-speed on the floor transmission with “granny” gear, drive shaft and rear end, all dynamically balanced. Modifications to improve performance include full-flow oil filtering, dual 2-barrel Stromberg carburetors adaptation to original intake manifold with new linkage, and Fenton dual exhaust headers with custom muffler routing. Dale’s ¾ ton has the optional 17” split rim wheels instead of the stock 15”. (These were original on the 1 ton pickup of these years). The extra 2” gives the truck a higher top end speed and lowers the engine RPM. Good during daily in-town driving. Another very unique fixture is the intake manifold. The original single barrel carburetor intake center hole was blocked off. Then front and rear carburetor receiver openings were installed to hold a pair of two-barrel Stromberg’s. It operates excellent and is probably the only one of its kind in the world! What an eye catcher! He says it easily cruises at almost 70 mph! The chassis rebuild involved frame powder coating, front and rear spring leafs with helpers, Delco lever arm shocks, duel master cylinder brake system, front end and steering linkage with drive box. The electrical system conversion to 12 volts included the original Delco starter and generator, regulator, new Mallory dual point distributor and coil, new wiring harness, 4 corner lighting with halogen headlights and turn signaling. A new water pump, radiator with expansion cylinder and hoses improve the cooling system. All body panels were COMPLETELY disassembled and, along with the cab, subjected to a strip and de-rust total immersion process. Reassembly with new fasteners was preceded by extensive applications of epoxy and urethane primers and initial custom lacquer paint then followed by final lacquer paint and clear coatings. Cab restoration involved new door handles, hinges and panels, headliner with insulation, sun visors, gauge cluster and speedometer, vintage GMC reproduction stereo AM/FM radio and 7 new glass windows allowing a surround view. The air flow heater with control valve and defroster ducts, vacuum wiper motor with linkage, fuel tank with new sender, and all pedal controls were also restored to original specifications. Traversing seat with era appropriate new upholstery allows comfort with a vintage signature. Firewall, roof, floor and doors all received sound deadening applications. Finishing touches include the re-chromed original grill, badging, radiator fan and added dual trumpet horns. Color coordinated powder coated engine side and valve covers enhance the engine bay. Also evident are new bumpers with valences, vintage Unity spot and fog lights, chromed fuel tank linkage, and powder coated original split rim wheels with new 750-17 tires. An eye-catching top grade oak bed and side rails with stainless linings and fasteners complete this classic restoration. It only has 49,640 actual miles. Under the hood of this beast is a numbers matching 400 CID V8 330 HP engine, being driven by a smooth shifting four-speed manual transmission. The easy driving features of this classic is only enhanced by its power steering and power brakes. Painted in a bold red with a black power convertible top and red vinyl leather seats. There are no signs of wear in the interior; it still has the look of the recent restoration. The rally wheels and polished chrome trimmers really give this Firebird a muscle car look. The Firebird is the sister car to the Chevrolet Camaro and as Camaros continue to climb in value, people are discovering these Firebirds are a bargain in comparison! Just as with the Camaro, 1967 was the first year for the Firebird. It would be two years before the fire breathing Trans Am would be made on this same platform. With 4 headlights, a chrome nose piece, pointed hood, inset taillights, quarter panel grills, and the infamous Firebird emblems really make these cars scream “muscle!” To view this 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video of the car running and driving, just visit us online at http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com. Description:

Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this 1969 Chevrolet Nova. This Nova has undergone a thorough restoration and shows well. These cars were originally known as the Chevy II with the Nova being the top model in the lineup. Starting just before this one was produced, the Chevy II name was dropped and from 1969-1979, they were known as the Nova. This one is powered by a stout 396 CID V8 that has no issues running through the power band. It’s been paired up to a 4-speed automatic transmission with a Hurst ratchet shifter, so you can have some fun with it as well. The coated headers will always look good while they evacuate the spent hydrocarbons through the custom dual exhaust system, and the sound they help produce is awe-inspiring indeed. Keeping that mill properly cooled is a massive aluminum radiator. A polished serpentine belt drive system keeps the rest of the driven accessories operating as they should. To control the power driven to the ground, this Nova features a 12-bolt rear end. This car is also capable of stopping in a timely manner with the 4-wheel disc brakes. The exterior is coated in a nice turquoise and shows great in the sun. You will see that the paint follows all through the car from the exterior through the engine bay and into the cab. You can certainly take the car to your local car show and this would make for a great conversation piece. The car sits atop some Mickey Thompson radial tires that are in like-new condition with plenty of rubber to lay down. The interior features black bucket seats and partially original condition. There have been a few add-ons, so you can monitor the vehicles performance more closely. Some Sport-Comp gauges allow you to monitor your car and ensure it is performing adequately. This car is ready to hit the streets and makes for a great head turner. It will also keep cool on those summer days with the cold blowing A/C as well. Description:

Up for sale in our Tampa showroom is this stunning 1958 BMW Isetta – a car made famous by Steve Urkel. This fine example is a numbers-matching car with just 12,457 miles on the odometer! Defined by its small size, front-entry passenger compartment and narrow rear track, this 1958 BMW Isetta 300 will definitely turn heads wherever you take it. The styling is amplified by the bullet-shaped headlights and chrome bumperettes, and the whole looked is finished off with a matching suitcase to store on the rear luggage rack. Getting in the BMW Isetta is half the fun as you watch the front hatch swing out of the way with the steering wheel attached. The two-passenger interior is as basic as the car itself with controls for the heater and choke mounted in front of the gear selector, and the sliding side windows and retractable soft all operated manually. The BMW Isetta was produced from 1955 to 1962 with three variations, this being the Isetta 300. The 1958 BMW Isetta 300 is powered by a 298cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine rated at 13 hp, which is more than enough for a microcar weighing less than 800 pounds. This engine allowed the Isetta to return fuel economy of around 63 mpg and drive at speeds up to 53 mph. On such a basic car, there isnt much to the Isetta in terms of options, which are limited to just a manual sunroof, radial tires, hub caps, vinyl interior and a tilt steering wheel (well, kinda). To see 100+ HD pictures and videos of this 1958 BMW Isetta 300, please visit GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Las Vegas is proud to offer this beautiful 1957 Oldsmobile 88. 1957 Oldsmobile 88 Coupe Oldsmobile showed a real propensity for power in the 50s. The 304-cu.in. OHV V-8 that the division introduced in 1948 ran 7.25:1 compression and had only 135hp on tap; by 57, less than a decade later, the base Rocket T-400 V-8 displaced 371-cu.in., sported 9.5:1 compression, and was rated at 277 horsepower-more than double the earlier 88s output. That was the base engine. For an extra kick in the pants, you could order the J2 option (code W). J2 had been around as a performance option since the early 50s, but for 1957 and 58, J2 ran three two-barrel carburetors. Historically, Oldsmobiles J2 beat Pontiacs Tri-Power to market by a matter of weeks. Olds had been developing 3x2-bbl carburetion for a couple of years under Pete Estes, an engine-development engineer and assistant chief engineer at Olds before he became chief engineer at Pontiac in September 1956. In December of 56, Pontiac announced Tri-Power for a spring release-no doubt prepared with information Estes brought with him from Oldsmobile. It caught his former co-workers off-guard, and they had to scramble to ready the J2 intake for a late January/early February launch as a mid-year option. This is one gorgeous 1957 Oldsmobile, and best of all it has the 371ci J-2 engine with three 2-barrel carburetors and the Hydramatic automatic transmission. The J-2 engine was rated at 300hp and 415 ft lbs of torque. In 1957 this was one of the fastest production cars on the market, and today is still such an iconic car. Description:

For sale in our Indianapolis Showroom is a 1966 Pontianc GTO. This GTO in Marina Blue Paint with brand new Black Interior is a real beauty. All the chrome shines nicely and the Crager Wheels are in great shape. This American Muscle car has a 389 hooked to an Automatic Transmission. The build was completed less than 500 miles ago and it shows. This a true numbers matching orignal car. This GTO has Power Brakes Power Steering Tilt WHeel and working AC. The GTO became a separate Pontiac model (model number 242) in 1966, instead of being an option package on the Tempest LeMans. The entire GM A body intermediate line was restyled that year, gaining more curvaceous styling with kicked-up rear fender lines for a Coke-bottle look, and a slightly tunneled backlight. The tail light featured a rare louvered cover, only seen on the GTO. The GTO was available as a pillared coupe, a hardtop (without B-pillars), and a convertible. Also an automotive industry first, plastic front grilles replaced the pot metal and aluminum versions seen on earlier years. New Strato bucket seats were introduced with higher and thinner seat backs and contoured cushions for added comfort and adjustable headrests were introduced as a new option. The instrument panel was redesigned and more integrated than in previous years with the ignition switch moved from the far left of the dash to the right of the steering wheel. Four pod instruments continued, and the GTOs dash was highlighted by walnut veneer trim. Although Pontiac had strenuously promoted the GTO in advertising as the GTO tiger, it had become known in the youth market as the goat. The car comes with documentation of the build and parts list in a nicley organized binder. This 1966 Pontiac GTO for sale is located in our Indianapolis Showroom and can be seen in greater detail, including an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
