Description:

A more sophisticated, supercharged and intercooled version of the 3.8 L OHV V6 was used to power the high performance Thunderbird Super Coupe, also called Thunderbird SC for short. The Super Coupe could be had with a Mazda-derived, M5R2 5-speed manual transmission or an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission (or 4R70W for 1994/1995 models). The Thunderbird Super Coupe was Motor Trend's Car of the Year for 1989, which Ford proudly advertised. When running at a maximum of 5,600 rpm, the supercharger provided 12 psi of boost, with the engine rated at 210 horsepower (160 kW)/230 horsepower (170 kW) for 1994/1995 at 4,000 rpm and 315 lb⋅ft (427 N⋅m) of torque at 2,600 rpm under an 8.2:1 (8.6:1 for 1994/1995) compression ratio. Accompanying the more powerful engine, Super Coupes were equipped with a host of unique features underlining their higher performance demeanor relative to standard Thunderbirds. Among these were larger, 16 x 7.0 inch alloy wheels with high performance tires (standard Thunderbirds came with 15 x 6.0 inch steel wheels and 15 x 6.5 inch alloy wheels were optional), a Traction-Lok limited slip differential, standard anti-lock brakes, 4-wheel disc brakes (vented front and rear rotors), speed-sensitive variable assist steering, lower body side cladding, fog lights, and a stiffer suspension with adjustable shocks supplied by Tokico.[

Cadillac special editions have always been a way to express one's individuality. For the 1979 model year one such limited edition was the Custom Phaeton Coupe. It was also available as the Custom Phaeton Sedan. The Custom Phaeton Coupe had an appearance reminiscent of classic Cadillac convertibles.

The 1979 Phaeton Coupe was available in Cotillion White with a Dark Blue roof and white leather interior, Slate Firemist with a Black roof and Antique Slate Gray leather interior, or Western Saddle Firemist with a Dark Brown roof and Antique Saddle leather interior. The Custom Phaeton Coupe option was an additional $2,029.
Signature exterior features included a custom fabric roof treatment mocking convertible top fabric, brushed chrome moldings with flush mounted opera lamps and Cadillac crest, Phaeton scripts on each rear fender and wire wheel discs. Interior exclusivity included 45/55 Dual Comfort front seating.

Richly tailored natural grain leather upholstery and matching leather trimmed steering wheel added to the distinction of the Phaeton Coupe. The 1979 Custom Phaeton was a delightful way to experience a Cadillac limited edition. The Phaeton option escalated the already luxurious Coupe deVille to new heights in elegance.

The 1959 Cadillac is remembered for its huge sharp tailfins with dual bullet tail lights, two distinctive rooflines and roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck lid beauty panels.[5] In 1959 the Series 62 were moved from the Series 62 to their own series, the Series 6200. DeVilles and 2-door Eldorados became the Series 6300 and Series 6400 respectively, though they all, including the 4-door Eldorado Brougham (which was moved from the Series 70 to Series 6900), shared the same 130 in (3,302 mm) wheelbase. Engine output was an even 325 hp (242 kW) from the 390 cu in (6.4 L) engine. The DeVille Series had script nameplates on the rear fenders. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows and two-way power seats. Plain fender skirts covered the rear wheels and 4-doors were available in either four-window or six-window hardtop configurations. Over 53,000 DeVilles were sold in their first year as a separate series, accounting for roughly 37% of all Cadillacs sold.

The 1960 Cadillacs had smoother, more restrained styling. General changes included a full-width grille, the elimination of pointed front bumper guards, increased restraint in the application of chrome trim, lower tailfins with oval shaped nacelles and front fender mounted directional indicator lamps. DeVilles were distinguished by special script nameplates on the rear fenders. Four-window and six-window hardtop sedans were offered again. The former featured a one-piece wraparound backlight and flat-top roof, while the latter had a sloping rear window and roofline. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, dual back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows and a two-way power seats. Technical highlights were finned rear drums and an X-frame construction. Interiors were done in Chadwick cloth or optional Cambray cloth and leather combinations.

The rear end on this 1963 Chevrolet Nova has been mini tubbed to accommodate a larger rear tire. The build sheet is extensive, and the capabilities are fantastic. The current tune is at 10psi and puts 855RWHP to the ground on pump gas. With race additives and a 30psi tune it put down 1,365RWHP. The engine is a 370 CID V8 fed by twin Borg Warner 75mm turbos and 160lb fuel injectors with a Weldon 2345A fuel pump. All 4 digits of horsepower push back to a Jeffco 4 speed transmission, and Ford 9 rear end with 3.42:1 gear. This build was quality and thought through. There is plenty of documentation and goodies for this car. It is the definition of pro street and the definition of sleeper. Description:

1966 Mercedes-Benz 600 Short Wheelbase for sale. Motorcar Classics is proud to offer this rare and distinguished of Mercedes flagship 1965 600 Short Wheelbase sedan. Featured in dark grey with grey leather interior this car has documented restoration and maintenance receipts in the past decade totaling over $185,000. It has been brought to the superb cosmetic and operating condition in which we offer it without respect to cost. The work has been done by respected 600-series experts Karl H. Middelhauve and Star Motors. It is powered by Mercedes formidable 6.3L 250HP V8 with 4-speed automatic transmission. It is one of just 323 600s produced in 1966.

According to Classic & Sportscar magazine, In an age when flaunting your wealth wasn't a crime, the 600 was the automotive equivalent of Monaco. It's a masterpiece of engineering, a quantum leap over its opposition, and redefines the word opulence. Introduced in September 1963 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, the all-new 600 represented state-of-the-art automotive engineering in just about every department. The supremely well-equipped newcomer featured an overhead-camshaft, fuel-injected, 6.3-liter V8 engine - Mercedes' first - air suspension with variable ride control, four-speed automatic transmission, all-round disc brakes, power-assisted steering, central locking, and separate air conditioning systems for front and rear compartments. Its cosseted occupants also enjoyed the advantages conferred by multi-way adjustable seating powered by a sophisticated system of hydraulics that also operated the windows and assisted in opening/closing the doors and boot lid.

The most popular version was the short wheelbase sedan that could seat up to six passengers. The long-wheelbase Pullman limousine - a veritable leviathan exceeding 20' in length and beloved of Heads of State and Popes - could accommodate up to eight. Despite its not inconsiderable weight, the 600 was endowed with highly respectable performance, reaching 60mph in a little under 10 seconds and exceeding 125mph flat out. Only 2,677 examples had been made when production ceased in 1981, of which 2,190 were four-door saloons, 428 were Pullman limousines, and 59 were landaulettes.

The luxuriously appointed Mercedes-Benz 600 short wheelbase we offer has been the benefactor of dutiful ownership. The wonderful state of the vehicles grey leather interior, wood, and trimmings is the result of its previous owner, Robert Berlin, commencing a refurbishment of the interior along with additional mechanical work via Karl H. Middelhauve.
After being purchased by the current owner roughly a decade ago, the work on the vehicle was continued. Well known amongst the marques enthusiasts, Star Motors of Endicott New York was made responsible for sorting out the hydraulic and air suspension systems. In addition, the gas tank and surrounding components were replaced, and the engine received a tune up. Lastly, the Becker Grand Prix radio, was further rebuilt. The history file includes over $185,000 in detailed receipts!

Quite possibly the most advanced car of the 1960s, the Mercedes 600 is still a wonder today. The suppleness of the ride, powerful motor, and luxuriously appointed interior make for a truly timeless motoring experience. Such a well sorted example, thanks to the efforts of renowned marque specialists, makes for a desirable proposition indeed. Do not miss this opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of Mercedes-Benzs finest creations.

Description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this cool 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. Many will say the Bug is responsible for what we know as the interstate highway system that we have today. In the early 30’s a crazy man in Germany wanted to make a “high-speed” system of roads to move people and product through his country. Little did we know at the time this man would become to known as the Furor and the real reason for these roads was to move troops quickly. I think we know how that worked out for him, not very well. Unlike Adolf the Bug would live on for many decades to come and much like him have a colt following that lives on today. This 1968 Beetle, Bug, or people mover is a notable example of why people fell in love with these little, almost indestructible cars. Sporting its flashy red paint and accented with those classic chrome bumpers it gets as many looks as cars twice its price. The roof rack with its stained wood gives it an original classic look. The matching deck lid rack only adds to the appeal. Under that deck lid a brand new, not rebuilt, 1600CC engine is tucked away making this a great candidate for your teen’s first car. Open the doors and you will notice the classic interior is in very good condition. Yet still the part that gets me is this car is a radio delete car. If you go underneath the car you will notice that the floorboards are spotless. Unlike many VW’s that have anything from house siding to stop signs these floorboards are original to the car. The original owner’s manual and toolkit are in the trunk something else you rarely see with one of these beauties. If you have been thinking about getting a great classic car that will always be in style or classic that is a blast to drive but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to do so this little piece of history will be a perfect fit. Options on this 1968 Volkswagen Beetle include; Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, Hubcaps, and Radial Tires. This 1968 Volkswagen Bug is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For additional information please call our knowledgeable staff at (812)294-1555 or email us at Louisville@GatewayClassicCars.com. If you would like to see it in person, come to our Louisville Showroom located at 13576 Blue Lick Rd., Memphis, IN 47143. http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/LOU/1557/1968-Volkswagen-Beetle
